Btw, weight savings does help a ton. I went from a fast lap of 32.5 before losing the close to .75 lbs to a fast lap of 31.6.

I also damaged totally 4 drive shafts on my eb48, all of them were damaged at the diff output side...so is there any problem on the shaft???

I totally feel you on this one. I had the same problem. Check your outdrives, and your drive pins. I had a first batch of the EB48, I emailed Tekno and told them my problem. They told me the same thing i just told you. I really didn't see how the outdrives (granted they were soft in the first batch) where the problem, since i heat treated mine to RC56 and didn't tell anyone.
I dropped one on the ground and the outdrive end broke off. In the email, they told me that they were soft, not hard...I don't know if someone made a mistake in chine or what...BUT I watch my outdrives / drive pins like a hawk now and haven't had a problem in a long time. I do give them a shot of lucas chain lube before I run it tho

Thanks for your advice, let me check my outdrive.

Well had my first outing yesterday , I can say car is really good . started off with my own shock setup and as the night went on shocks started to change .lol
Started with a spring balanced setup ( pink front /kyosho blue rear) car was very loose with maximum toe . I was running m2 revolvers , droped rear camber link made it a little better ,changed tires on next charge to double dees and it was way better .actually started to push ,mid corner . pulled sway bar off front and got a bit more mid corner . But kind of made it numb in a few areas . went to kyosho baby blue in front and that made it come around a little better but still wanted a little more corner speed in a hardpacked loomy area of the track . i qualified 2nd out of 11 on that run . so for the main I pulled the rear shocks in one hole and wouldn't u know it was then a tad loose on power but mid corner neutral power its spot on for my driving style . ended finishing 3rd cause of the harder to drive looseness on power (which I'm not comfortable driving but made it work ... Great car I set overall fastest laps in 3rd heat and main.

I'm thinking the kyosho blues r about the same as the greens (one step softer than yellow I believe ) but harder than the pinks .

Those running the pro4 hd 1850kv motor. What gearing are you running?

I came second overall in my class yesterday, finishing third for the series. Love this car, but I did start the series/year with my Vorza, then bought, built and moved to the EB48.

Now I need to build the second one, then I'll have no worries.

With stock pistons and springs what is a good starting point on shock oils? Looking for a good starting point for both indoor and outdoor tracks. Planning on a 1900kv/4S setup.

Once I install all the lightened parts I might try a 2S/550 sct motor setup.

I ran Doors set up on an indoor track today, it was a little pushy in the tight 180`s.
I switched back to the stock wheel hubs and got my steering back, the set up was very fast after that.

40 up front and 35 rear worked well for me. When i went to the light weight shorty packs, i went to 35 front and 30 rear but i also went lighter on springs to the tekno pink front and rear and i went to thicker sway bars(2.8 front and rear). Car is insane fast on the track. Aggressive yet planted.

Thanks I will start with the 40/35 setup first.

I ran 19T today on 4s. I did have some motor heat problems though. Im really surprised. I thought the HD motor would have no problem with the buggy at about 6.25lbs. Came off after a 10 min main at 210 degrees. I wanted to drop a tooth during the qualifiers but damn grub screw in the pinion stripped and I couldnt get it off so I just left it alone for the day. I'll mess with it one night this week and get the damn thing off.

I may just go back to a normal 1900 T8 motor on the big outdoor tracks for the summer and save the HD for indoor this fall winter I'm sure it will work no problem on the smaller tracks and lower gearing, but I'm thinking its just not quite enough motor to handle the big tracks and taller gearing.

I figured the 1850 on 4s would come off cold...I'm seeing up to 180 after 13ish minutes with the 4300 geared 18/44...I ran a 20 for a few packs the other day by accident and it came off even colder (that has me stumped).

Are your bearings starting to get old by any chance? And did you notice the motor maxxing out on rpm's at all?

That seems like some very tall gearing to me. With a 1900kv t8, i though a 17tooth was too much, and this is on a medium sized outdoors track....
