Team Associated B4.2 Thread

Your gonna want a b4 because its an easier car to drive. The rb6 is good but it's a car the needs a lot if time to set up so it will handle good. The b4 will be easier to set up for a med-low bite track.

Came from the Losi TLR22 to the TeamC TC02 Evo, to the Durango DEX210 and now the AE B4.2. First race with the B4.2 was last Saturday and out of the box it was easily as good for me as working for months on setups for the previously owned buggies. Can't help you with an opinion on the RB6, I just won't spend that much on a 2wd buggy.

Loosening the diff can help some in the corners. Are you loose on power exiting the corner? Then the loosening the diff SMALL amounts could help. No more than 1/8 turn at a time. It doesn't take much and it doesn't take much for it to start barking at you.

I own the b4 and the rb6. look for my opinions in the rb6 thread please. no need to repost them here.

I can't power through the corners as fast as others without pushing or sliding.

I've run the 4.2 for a while and just switched to the RB6. My race time after a 10 min main was about 10 sec faster with the RB6 on it's first time out. Even though I would have sworn I was a good lap slower. It doesn't feel as good as my 4.2 did, but I had my 4.2 dialed in and only ran 4 batteries through the RB6, so I didn't expect it to.
They do drive very different. I can't say which is better, because it's all preference. The fit, finish, and quality of parts of the RB6 is second to none, but the factory support and sheer number of people running the 4.2 gives it the edge in the user friendly aspect.
You could honestly make a checklist and run down it and in the end, it will be very close. Both cars are great.

So I am pretty much against bashing. But I do sometimes run one of my buggies in the street to test electronics before I sell them on the forums. I never sell anything without testing it before I post the AD. So, I had this orion 6.5 laying around and i was never going to race with it. So i put it in my b4 and mounted old bald racing tires and went out to the street. Well after a couple of light passes in the street, I wanted to make sure it didnt act up at full speed. Sp I settup for a full speed run with a 6.5 and 24/78 gearing..... The damn front tire hit a pebble and immediatly flipped upside down onto the towers and it slid for like 30 feet on the towers..... I was supper pissed because I figured i just trashed my shock caps. But I only managed to shave the tower down about and 1/8-1/4 inch. So if you ever want to shave a little weight and dont have a dremel, you can use this method to shave off the tips of your towers. grrrrrr. next time I will test stuff in my short bus truck........

yeah, I was going to buy new tower, but I will might just wait till the break. Kinwald was down here about 2 weeks ago, he flat landed a jump and snapped a rear tower. it was the "updated" one. I might just pick up the old towers before they run out. I am just not confident in the durability of the new ones.

If it's spinning out in the corners, how will "lowering the car , stiffer springs, carbon arms." help at all??
I personally don't think the OP posted enough info to give him an accurate diagnosis/solution.
But I'm still baffled by some of your logic WC. Usually you seem to post pretty good info, but the last couple weeks your post's are rather strange lol

WHAT?? adjusting diff settings is a GREAT way to tune for all aspects (entry, mid, exit) of handling through a corner...where do you come up with some of this stuff??
