Tony's & Hexcrews use the strongest stuff out there, A574 alloy steel. It is actully stronger than titanium, but heavier. Tony's is a little cheaper. Stay away from stainless. It is only slightly tougher than 7075 aluminum. Titanium is good, strong, & light, but EXPENSIVE ($100 a screw set!).

Just got back from the track and decided to try out my new video camera. Maifield came by again, so I thought I would share q2. I footage looks a little better, but I think I might return the camera. Anyway, enjoy.

I have had some stainless screws in my t4 for a very long time... I put them in the truck in 2005. I have not stripped any per say, but they are definetly looser on the tip of my hardened hex drivers than the stock ones. And they do feel heavier than my stock steel ones. But they are shiny and pretty. If your going to use stainless, use a good tool or you will just end up regretting it. In fact, I would always use hardened tip drivers if I were you.

I guess since everyone's given an opinion I'll give one as well:-). I think everyone agrees that stainless steel really has no place in this car. To be honest with you unless you want to spend a lot of money the factory screws are the way to go. I use Lunsford screws. They are very expensive and you must use MIP or better tools otherwise you will strip them. Hands Dow the best looking screws. If you want good strength and great looks get Lunsford. Otherwise stick to stock.

Thank you guys so much for all your input. It's greatly appreciated. I'm replace the stripped screws with stock screws for now so I can race this week and order one of the screw kits since Im always dropping screws and bolts...lol. I also picked up some factory team hexes. I wish I would have got them two years ago and spared myself some headaches...lol
