Base setup worked ok for me on a track very much like you described. It wasn't as stable as i would prefer it, and it seemed kind of twitchy. At practice thursday i'm gonna try it with and w/o center and rear braces, mess with some rear roll centers, and try moving the hubs back and forth. One this i did do (but haven't yet gotten to try out) is go to 32.5 wt ae oil up front compared to the 37.5 wt that is stock. This should keep the buggy a little more comfortable when i get on rougher sections of the track. Also, i went pink tekno springs up front, and stock yellow rears. I found out last week that red rears are way too stiff for my 8th scale track. I'll let you know if i find a setup i like.

I am running Austin Blair's setup from the dirt nitro challenge with the exception of having my front shocks laid over a little more. It is working well for me on dry, bumpy, an loose tracks of all sizes.

Might just look at that if i can't find what i want from my own tuning. Painting and setup are my two biggest weaknesses in this hobby.

Use the stock set up and tune from there. Box stock buggy with only 2 races. 2 wins stock set up. 1 race was the proline shoot out. I posted video a few pages back. 2 wins 2 races 0 practice days. I would say thats a good start with the buggy. Btw Josh ran with all the braces too. Box stock. If you live by the 3 T's racing is alot easier. Set up changes are necessary i know but 90% is Tires Tires Tires
If anyone from tekno is reading this. Josh Knight is making your buggy look really good here on the east coast. He is without a sponsor(besides me). Im sure after the proline race he opened some eyes when he lapped the field.

In this set up Blair goes with 5mm shims in the front of the rear hub giving it the longest wheel base. Does it slow down the sharp steering the buggy has? Removing that middle brace makes the buggy feel strange. I don't even like removing the rear one. I have Kyosho light blue springs all around. It's a little stiff, but removing that rear brace may help. I ordered a Kyosho orange spring for the rear. I have yellow springs, but may be too soft. I will try all these changes tonight. I have racing at my track under the lights. Please add your thoughts.

I used Blair's setup two weeks ago on a fresh track that was hard packed but dusty/loose in some areas. The rear end was constantly coming around in the dusty areas. I'd go with 5K in the middle diff. Austin is a VERY aggressive driver and has much better car control than 99% of the drivers out there. I would also try stiffer front and/or softer rear sway bars. All of this IMHO.

It should be 3/2. Which Blair setup are you looking at?

The biggest change for me came from reducing the anti squat. Putting it in the middle really locks in the backend. The stock setting is way to aggressive on a loose track. The only other thing it may need is softer springs in the front. After that it can be turned pretty easily using shock oil and anti sway bars.
