wow so you guy are using the front springs for the rear of this car? That helps it out how? I just got my set up but it gonna be a couple of weeks before i can even try it on the street. racing season dont start till about may for my tracks. which are all out doors and big tracks. I read some said that used heavey spring in the rear cause of using the novik ballistic 550 4.5 t that what is setting in mine now any input would be good. i was gonna pick up a set of each for front and back of the truck but maybe i should order two front set?

What they are using these springs for are indoor tracks with high grip if your going out door you don't want such hard springs.

Dirt

Think backward springs is something the guys with the ExoTech have to do ...

6oz's of extra weight to handle makes a truck that is lazy and they use to help .

Stock chassis performs better with the Yellows ...

Thanks cherry, I was thinking why would I move to a front spring with that high of a rate when my truck is light as possible. Making the move to blue fronts on the front and blue rears on the rear seemed to work really well for me. I might go back to yellow fronts on front and call it good for now. Seems like the only real way to tune my stuff is to do it myself to my preference. Getting tuning advise from someone else is hard because there are so kany variables.

I run yellows front and rear w/30wt front and 25wt rear on hard packed hi traction clay and it is like butter I love it I may go to 27.5 in the rear to slow it down a tad though.............

So your running stock. Been there done that, works pretty good.

Interesting as I seem to recall that it was suggested to just add weight to the stock chassis, possibly a similar amount as what the Exotek chassis does versus buying the actual chassis.

Hence, the benefit of using heavier springs with your logic would be seen stock chassis as well.

As for whether there is a benefit or not, try it and see. Craig's explanation is probably the best on the "why". As for where to use it, I used the higher rates in both extreme low traction conditions as well as highest grip carpet. It works.

I don't think you guys are wrong, it's just that there's a big differance between adding 20 to 60g of weight by the servo vs 6oz of the exotek center chassis (170g).

Don't know much about the Novak stuff but for sure the RS won't work.

I ran the Kinetic in my Ofna 4x4 sc truck with a 5.5 HV motor on 2s and it was alright, The Tekin RS will not work as for the GTB I am not to sure.
If your looking for a cheap reliable setup go for a Brushless Hobbies ESc and Tenshock 4600kv that is what I run in my SC10 4x4 and it is wicked fast.

Yeah, I agree. my comment was directed at the fact that when debating the merits of the chassis versus adding weight to the plastic chassis, it has been stated to just add the weight to the stock chassis with no mention of the benefits of the heavier springs. Hence, if you do that and the "reasoning" to use the stiffer front springs on the rear is to compensate for that as WC stated, then you would do the same with the stock chassis.

I will say this, for those considering the exotek chassis versus sticking with the stock one, add the similar weights to the vehicle and see what you think. And also bear in mind that the exotek chassis will add weight to the vehicle at the lowest point possible.

And when you compare, make the appropriate changes to your shock settings.

see here:

sounds like it will work.

You can run 540 motors on it, however it appears you need to really watch your temps.

Bear in mind, the BLH ESC offers zero warranty. If you get one DOA you are out of luck. That has been the main complaints I have read about the ESC. At the price point and lack of warranty, you may find it better to just order the apparent HK clone that is like $38ish .
