Blue Pro-Line or JC wear out way fast and become useless..

Speak for yourself, i have never had a problem with jc foam, red aka super hard. You do run on a higher bite track so maybe thats why you dont like the JC foam.

Nobody around here uses um Eli .

They break down before the tire is even scuff in ..
Try AKA or the new Sweep insert ...

They last a lot longer ....
Personally will never buy a blue insert again until they improve the foam..

I generally agree with WC on this one, but lately I have been trying the new JC truck foam and 4wd front foam. Previously, no red aka was available for truck, and my red aka 4wd fronts seem to not last very long (I think they're a bit small) and am going to try the JC 4wd front insert there. The new JC medium "round" variants have more material.

I have some proline blues in my holeshot 2.0. I have about 5 weekends on them and they feel fine.

On less grip the blue works great as the red is quite a bit more stiff and would bring less traction ...

Still , the blue is shot even after one day even on less grip ...


When on less traction ?

You have to run the Red 3 or 4 packs and break um in ....

Brings me to an observation I made last week. I always run AKA but since they were on backorder at my local track (and limited availability elsewhere), I went with the proline inserts. Immediately noticeable is blue dust on the rim and on the table while working them into position. I never had red dust with AKA. Also, when washing tires I'll squeeze the tire and have excess water escape out of the vent holes I put in the tire with a leather punch and with the prolines it looks like blue smurf juice. The AKA's never had red "juice" come out. Does this scientifically allow me to draw any conclusions as to their performance? No, but it's gotta tell you something and you can draw your own conclusions as I have.

On a sidenote... I also have noticed that with proline tires, when I clean them before use (with alcohol), that I get a lot more "crap" on the paper towel. I believe this is the mold release or something. I barely have anything on the towel when I clean of AKA's. Again, this doesn't say anything about performance of the tire, just an observation of mine.

Back to the foams. I'm running the proline in my stadium truck right now (due to the AKA being sold out), and have on the past couple set of tires. They seem to perform just fine, other than my observation earlier about them "appearing" to break down easier. In my buggy I'm running AKA. I will say on Friday I ended up recycling a pair of AKA foams from August that were all nasty and wet to use in a new set of tires because my local track was sold out of ALL buggy inserts (they really need to get with the program) and to my surprise, the inserts felt great. Can't see any noticeable break down other than them being a soggy nasty mess before inserting them in the new tires/wheels. They also appeared to work as expected on the track.

Red foams do last longer. I use Proline blue foam when the track is new usually about the first week while it is still very wet. They feel similiar to a open cell when they are all broken down.

No thanks, i will stick with what i prefer which is the JC foam. You may be doing something wrong. Maybe tire sauce is eating them up???

I get plenty of life out of a jc foam even on Gold compound, personally i prefer how fast they wear in and feel consistent with the first run i make.

The quality control on the blue is also lacking , we find blue inserts one firmer then the other all the time ....(Buggy inserts ) ....


Trucks are a whole different story ...

It is never a good idea to get your foams wet when washing your tires.

The pl blue foams have always been a joke. In truck, they last like 3 - 4 race days before they feel like open cell or worse. Same story for buggy. They're great for one (big) race use when a red aka would be too stiff and you don't really have any time to allow them to break in.

The new blue JC truck foams have been holding up pretty good for the two weeks I've had them in, but the rears are already softer than the fronts. AKA just came out with truck foams so something tells me I'll be switching pretty soon anyway.

A local AKA sponsored guy says the aka tires to not "need" to be cleaned because they are not covered in mold release. Actually, my jc tires barely get the towel dirty when i prep them. No Losi tires, lol are a different story, just filthy.

I noticed Cav cut a slot on the chassis to put his wires through, but the hole is very small.

Did he remove the leads from the servo and PT and then reattach them?
