not yet, we do have the 7 Port and the 4 port on order though....
It is a Bonito, but with the new rear bearing/case design.

Oh, hello there...

Hopefully the weather will be warm enough to start the break in today. I've heat cycled it with my CompHeat up to 195° and back down to room temp three times. I'm ready to put some fuel to it!

HOLY S#*T!!! I had three tanks down into the break in on my P5XLT team edition (Neal hand lapped it for me to shorten the break in time). I decided to start leaning it out to see what she's all about. I'd say I'm 3/4 of the way to a solid race tune, still a little fat but holy guacamole this thing is powerful! From the very bottom all the way to the top it has insane torque. The sound is remarkable too. I'll get some video as soon as I can get to a decent indoor track to film.

I can't wait to get it tuned and on the track. Going to have to re-train my trigger finger that's for sure. I'm sold! I'll be Clocked from here on out.

Use a Buku clutch with the optional heavy flywheel in buggy. It's a great combo.

Rob. I just ran my MP9 on the road with a BUKU clutch. After about 2 minutes I thought exactly what you are saying. Whatever CRE is doing with this new version of P5 is unbelievable.

I also limited my throttle travel to about 65-70% open area of the 7mm restrictor. No notable difference in a 75-100 yard run. Could only notice it if I wound it out for about 150 yards. I'm thinking I will get better mileage, as on this carb the LSN does not protrude out at these settings, thus limiting fuel flow (probably unwanted fuel flow).

I'm going to try it on the track, as is, and then probably go to the brass flywheel to harness some of this crazy power!!!!!!! I'm loving it!

Is the 7mm restrictor the preferred one to have in there? Mine came with the 6.5 in there and that's what I've been using thus far.

I also have a small idle gap (.4mm-.5mm). It idles strong and seems fine so far. Is this pretty normal for this P5?

6.5 is too small ............. run a 7-8 mm for best results

Bill, do you happen to know what your needle settings are? How about your idle gap? Just curious to compare them with mine. I noticed you have a bit of a two stage idle. I had that too but tuned it out with a smaller idle gap but I've got some tweaking to do with that Gap/LSN setting. It idles perfectly but on rare occasion flames out after a mid to high speed run. My temp were around 212° but that was with the head partially wrapped (it was only 42° out today).

What fuel ? what plug ?

also during breakin phases you need to tune in a 2 stage idle....when new they will not hold a low drop down idle......if its stalling it means you are pushing breakin too fast ! lapped or not ,stalling is usually it letting you know to back off a little bit !!! getting too greedy with the juice !!!!

LOL yeah, I'm getting impatient. I'll widen the gap a bit and fatten up the LSN. I ran three tanks through it with very fat settings only going to about 25% throttle. Two more slightly leaner and up to 33% throttle and then on the 6th tank I went for it a little. Engine was always pre-heated to 180° at the plug prior to starting. Only stalled twice but otherwise seemed great. I'll back off and run at least 4 more tanks with fatter settings.

Fuel is 30% O'Donnell Race Blend, Plug is a Nova #6. Didn't even think about different fuel = different settings...

Need to get some of that Bones Brew before the season starts. I'm just using up the 2/3 of a gallon of OD since it's sitting here.

get that fuel out of that engine asap ! that is absolute trash fuel that will end up killing that engine right fast !!! do not, i mean do not, attempt to dial in the top end on a fuel like that..that fuel will detonate like crazy and will wipe that engine out in no time,...OD fuel is a no go for my engines, especially the race blend crap

No kidding?!? Yikes. I'll stop immediately. Is there something you'd recommend that would be locally available until I can order the Bones Brew? I wish I would have asked you before starting the break in. I feel like a dumbass...
