James, your cars magically start to suck because you don't maintain them. You should check your camber and ride height before every race. Buying a new car only helps for so long.

p.s. I'll teach you how to solder whenever you're ready.
listen here buddy I was only giving the young lad some advice? You took your beaten now relax and get used too it, I'll see you next week if you show up after that ass whooping you took in 4wd.

John, is it possible to include average lap time on the printouts?

Need some help with a setup for my B4.1

So I put big bores on my B4.1, my buggy went from planted and fast to loose and slow. It was a struggle just to get a clean lap in on Saturday. Rear end feels very loose, very low side bite. Forward bite is off too, going down the straight the rear end breaks loose. I used to have great rip coming out of corners, I could clear the triple with ease before, now I need a decent run at it.

Overall the rear end is a mess.

Shocks

Avid Springs
Front: White 2.79lb
Rear: Yellow 2.13lb
Oil: 35wt up front and 32.5 in the rear
Rear Tower: Inside hole
Rear Arm: Outside hole
Front Tower: Inside hole
Front Arm: Outside hole

Rear Camber Links
Two washers under ballstud
Using hole C on the hubs

Front Camber Links
Two washers on shock tower
Inside hole on block

Ride Height
Front: 23mm
Rear: 23mm

Tires
Front: Pink Beams
Rear: Pink Beams (Tried B Bars too)

Suggestions appreciated, thanks!

When I first went to big bores on my Kyosho it wasn't that bad off but needed some getting use to the plushness. My experience with B4's is that I have to add a ton of weight to the rear of that car in order for me to have a sense of stability from the rear. Honestly try adding some weight and try a less aggressive front tire in order to tame the ae aggressiveness!

Are these the same springs you were running on your V2 shocks? If so, you'll want to use the 1.7 pistons and heavy oils (37.5/35, or 1 step lighter). This combo will make the big bores feel more like the V2 shocks, but you'll loose a little pack.

If you're already running a full size pack, then don't add weight. Actually, I can't come close to the forward bite that Alex has (even when I've tried his setup). His car is glued to the track, and wheelies where my B4 and RB6 start to get loose.

My take is to just go back to the V2 shocks. Pros have been winning championships for decades with standard bore shocks, on all kinds of surfaces. Not that big bores don't have any fundamental advantage (I'm sure they do), but if your original setup worked for you, then I'd say go back to that.

Springs are as close as I could get to the previous springs using Avids, the ones I was using before were:

Front: Brown 2.80lbs
Rear: Green 1.90lbs

I'm running the Reedy 4100 shorty packs, I'll try moving the battery back a bit and see of that helps. Then I'll try the 1.7 pistons like you suggested.

Thanks!

I'm going to try and dial in the big bores, I do like the big bores for the plushness when landing jumps. If I can't get them dialed in I'll go back to the V2 shocks.

What pistons are you using? I run my Shorty even with the tips of the u-brace. Off hand i have 1mm under the front studs and 1mm under the rear. 2° anti squat, and AE 30/27.5 oil with 1.6 pistons. Running AE black/white springs.

I'd say it was about a 50/50 split on that. I was able to stay on the same lap as John & Ed. If they hadn't tangled in the last corner before the line I would have had 3rd.

Will was hammering that Ruslter around the track too! It was anyones race at the end.

I'm using 1.6 pistons and the battery pretty far forward, this worked well before the big bores, I'll move it back and see if that helps. I'm also using 2 degrees of anti squat. Oil is 35 front and 32.5 rear, I'll go thinner in the rear and see if that helps also. Springs are listed above, don't remember off the top of my head at the moment.

Of course I'll make one change at a time and see what works, thanks for the help peeps.

Great run Trev...you were rock solid the whole race and that finish was awesome. Great call on running stadium, that was a blast...Any interest in running them again on Wednesday?
