RC10B4.1 FT/WC
If it's the axle threads sticking out that concerns you, take a dremel to them. That's what I did. Cut them flush to the nut to possibly avoid that "what if" moment.
Honestly though, even if the threads got a ding on em, taking the nut off the first time would act like a die (tap n die set) and clean the threads up, I havent had any issues in several years but maybe Im lucky with that.
ATTN:
Since the OP of this thread hasn't been active in a very long time I have given control to the original post to Wildcat since he has been very active on this thread. He can now update it with any/all useful information.
Thanks Wildcat

IMO, the first post should stay the factory specs, so you should also give him the second post, my $.02
I will update the first post with the common information.
-ubrace
-hub mod
- parts for BB conversion
- Basic gearing for popular turns
- List of popular upgrades
I know the b4.2 is out and most of the info between the 2 pages will be duplicated, but there will still be guys/gals with 4.1's that want 4.1 specific answers. The info we have compiled for the last couple years will be available for them to view should they pull up this thread in their search.

how much extra work is having the ball diff over the gear diff?
just wondering because per the advise of a local racer I put diff oil in the gear diff and WOW what a huge difference in rear grip!
now I'm really wondering if the ball diff is worth the extra effort of upkeep if there is any.
in the meantime I tried 7k weight oil and wondering if I should keep going lower like 5k or 3k.

To me the ball diff is more precise and easier to tune/adjust plus its lighter.
Wildcat--
Thanks, wish this was done by the thread starter, I just got the b4.1 recently (first AE since former losi fanboy lol) and would have made getting up to speed easier.
Having a b4.2 thread is almost a waist lol, nothing new.

So what does shaving the brace where the ballstuds go actually do? I read the first page but still lost on what it does.
With my B4 I have the stock setup but I have -1 camber on the front and rear now but no other changes and seems like it has a bit of on power push when trying to exit corners
