16G for 1/12 MOD works fine. I think Donny Lia uses 16g and he is fast. I have talked to TQ and they have a few drivers running 16G in mod without any problems.
I run 1 3.5 for 1/12 MOD and will be trying 16G the next time out, I think it will be ok. My reson for running it is to help reduce pod tweek.

Thanks for that. Just started using 16 awg recently for 10.5 blinky. Now I'm not worried about having to rewire my ESC for a Mod race in 2 weeks time. Though if the forecast temperatures are still above 40* C (104* F) then, I might have to take that into account.
Keep us posted once you run. It will be interesting to see if the ambient causes any problems.

It's also funny...people talk about tire wear with mod quite a bit, but my mod tires (mag/pinks right now) get much better wear than the black/yellows or oranges I use for 17.5 and 13.5. Seems to me that there is a bit more maintenance associated with mod since parts wear out a bit faster, but the biggest thing is that you have to rebuild your diff every 2 runs or so. I am hoping we start to run it more regularly out here, or maybe even start running a 10.5 class more regularly to keep things interesting.
