No need for me to use belt covers on indoor clay, if I race outdoors or really dusty would put um back on ...

Wild Cherry, I noticed that you are using a small pinion on the pic showing the 4 pads...looks like a 16 tooth 48 pitch, can you share with me what gearing you are running and the track conditions that your sc10 4x4 is set up for...I find your posts on the T4.1 thread very helpfull and Im going over your posts on the sc10 4x4 thread now that I got a FT. Thanks

Depending on how you built it, possibly. I usually use a good amount of black grease around the edges of the diff and the orings. I found that I still would have fluid in my diffs when I would rebuild.

You may find that what I believe is the kyosho diff fluid / grease works better from what I have read on here.

Welcome to the thread ..
WC, curious to hear how long do the belts last, havent seen any wear on mine at all, I just rebuilt both diffs using double shims under sun gear as sugested....was a HUGE pain in the rear to get the pin into the outdrive with both shims under.....hoping this will keep the gears from wearing out so fast and leaking oil... thanks for your input. Also Im running in a med to high grip track as well called Bashers RC Raceway in Palm Beach Florida....Im using a Tekin Pro4 4600 KV running 23tooth 87 spur (48pitch) having issues with rear end coming loose on the first turn after the straighway. Ive tuned it so I dont have any traction roll but my rear fish tails a little....and im ussing the best tires on that track which are soft calibers...

Your correct the belt shows very little wear even after many packs ..

It does stretch and get longer however...
Eventually will start to jump off the front pulley...

When this occurs replace the belt..

Set-up help...
Suggest you first check the ride height first ...
Adjust to 19mm to 20mm

mrccc, when I ran my sc10 4x4 at bashers that first corners is tricky for rear grip. i use the kinwald setup there except i have the exotek rear hubs and only space up the rear camber link 2mm on bulkhead and hub carrier. for power i ran a reedy sonic 550 4.0 with a viper vtx-r black edition esc.

you may want to try green compound barcodes at bashers.

my truck fishtails quite a bit also under acceleration, havent solved that one yet, but working on it.

have you tried the 8mm mod? I personally found it generated more traction, you may find the same.

For me personally the best grip generator for the rear was the M2C rear toe in plate, set it at 3.5 degrees and could pitch the car how I wanted to.

Speaking of which, I am selling this part, brand new, unopened along with an RC Shox V2 Center Diff here: http://www.rctech.net/forum/r-c-item...l#post11644881

Cain will attest to how effective this pair of parts are in getting your SC10 4x4 competitive on a large, loose track.

yup. Center diff is money. Really changes the characteristics of the car and is tuneable. And the M2C block gives you those toe in options from 2.5 degree up to 3.5 in .25 increments as well as I believe a lower antisquat setting than the stock one too.
