None of the RPM stuff is really meant for racing. It's good for beginners because its very durable but it's all very heavy, which is very bad for 2wd as it is very weight and balance sensitive.

It's more designed for bashers and beginner drivers.

Well the stock bumper might not break. The rpm is like a spring loaded bumper. So it takes some of the impact out of the chassis. Also, it cleared the front of the body, so your body is impacted less also. I like for for my 7 year old. But I might take it off to see if the rear is more planted without it. 2oz hanging off the front would make it suck for racing imo.

2oz is huge. I added 3oz total in lead weight to my truck and it totally transformed it.

I couldn't imagine 2oz hanging off the front being good for rear grip.

yeah, I am going to put my bumper on my kids truck. If the rear end slip goes away, then the rpm bumper will be permanently replaced. I have been doing setup changes for 2+ months now and it might have all been the bumper, lol. My kids body wont fit right with the stock bumper though. I will have to cut a lot of it away. She has "Hello Kitty" painted on it, so I cant just replace the body. She likes it, lol. I have tried to find a kid friendly painter, but they dont exist and upgrade RC cant/wont make me custom kid stickers.

Also, I have seen guys use the rpm bumper AND 1/2 to 1 oz mounted on the bumper. Now these guys are novice and not very fast, but I have no idea who told them to do this.

Oops you said kid friendly. Actually I could probably help you out if you are serious. Also check out AMR racing. They do custom wraps and I think made to order.

I looked into wraps. I was told that hello kitty, monster high and other things my kid likes are copyrighted and they could not do it.

Not only is the stock lighter but it also ties into the front shock tower, totally different feel

I didn't. I added 3oz to the back of the battery tray.

yeah, I dont normally see people add weight up front on the sc10. Many people run the battery forward. So if you run the rpm bumper, you might be able to move the battery back some and use less lead in the rear of the tray. My kids truck is battery forward and rpm bumper. so it has a lot of weight up front.

I have never seen anyone put weight in the front of a SC10, most are adding at least an ounce or two in the back of the battery tray up to about 3oz.

The reason I bought the stock bumper was because of the weight. Looking forward to running the truck with the new bumper setup. Like I said I got my truck second hand and have gone totally through it. Enjoyed running with the RPM bumper but felt like it did some things due to the weight. I added 3 oz to the rear like in most setup sheets. I knew once I weighted it that 2 oz over the front end would not be a good thing. Liked the truck my first week....think I will really like it this week stock!

I've seen people 'lighten' the RPM front bumper, there are some places you can drill holes and keep it durable. The actual bumper that is screwed onto the 'skid plate'... cut that extra top wad off it so it doesnt look like one of those rings you put in a bulls nose to lead it around. They cleaned up the appearance and 'reduced' the amount of weight added up front over a 'regular' RPM front.
