Running no drag brake thank you. My son is actually the driver just trying to make it easier for him. We've run sct for a while so maybe we have some bad habits.

since there are over 1000 pages in this thread...

I was wondering if someone could help me out and point me in the right direction for a esc/motor combo for a B4.1 Worlds. I am a noob and I have never dealt with brushless before so please be gentle.

Thanks

I was afraid of that.

Under $200...I am not too worried about speed as I'd rather get the driving down first but then again I would like to have the ability to not finish last.

Plan to club race and any specific motor needs?

Viper makes some good combos for around $200. Find out what classes are offered where you will race and go from there. Start out with the stock class so as to not overwhelm yourself.

our 2wd 1/10th buggy class is open. Just has to use 1/10th electronics. Several of the people that race use Tekin, but I have heard about reliability issues. I need something that can take a beating for some newbie action

Viper is good stuff and has an excellent warranty. Check out www.amainhobbies.com and search for viper. If it's an open buggy class i would say to start out with a 17.5 and you can always add some boost through the esc as your skills progress.

I cant speak to an ESC but you cant beat a Reedy 17.5 to start, not fast enough then turn the timing up it'll run all night!
