The lightened out drives are available in the same new material. That being said, I ordered a set from a-main a couple of weeks ago and got the old material, one of which already broke. You might want to check with them and make sure you got the new ones.

Do you know a simple and definite way to distinguish the two from each other?

If I do receive the older versions, I will definitely be returning them. I think I may contact Amain on what I can do to ensure that I receive the newest version.

Thank you for any assistance that you can provide.

They look the same as before but they should have the new parts already. We suggest running them. If they start to notch out after 20 packsand or so, we will replace them for you free of charge. If after 20 packs they look good (no notching) and only the black color is worn, you have the new parts.

Send the broken pats to us and we will replace them. This only applies to TKR5112X and TKR 5114X. Thanks.

Weird , the only drive cups that show wear on my buggy are the F/R center cups on the diff pinion gears , the F/R diff and center diff show no wear after lots of running and mine was a first run buggy ......

We've heard a lot of good things about the Kyosho 8 x 1.3 pistons. The optional Tekno pistons will be available in a couple months. We're doing some more testing now. We want them to be the best they can be.

So far, your choices are solid. eb48, hitec 7955 and rx8 are all solid.

If you are going to race you will probably end up with a 4s setup. There are plenty of affordable 4s batteries out and matched with the Tekin 1900 or 2050 buggy motor, you can't really go wrong.

Let us know what your goals are. Some people race with nitros and need to make a 15-20 minute main (requires a 5s or 6s setup). Some tracks have 2s limits even with 1/8 scale. And some want to bash.

Yup, I definitely like the 8x1.3 pistons, but I also haven't tried the Tekno 10x1.2 yet, which I have also heard good things about.

Just been too lazy to drill out the stock ones, and the 8x1.3 worked a lot better for me than stock.

I'd personally say any motor in the 2000 - 2200 kv range I would use on 4S . A bit more umph when you need it than the 1900Kv but still reasonable control. You also don't need as big of pinions compared to the 1900Kv motor so the motor stays a bit closer to center line.

Does that much bend in the shock tower warrant a replacement? Don't notice it when I run but then again I'm not all that tuned to small things yet.
