One or the other may be softer or firmer ...

I did not give bad # or info ....

This is what you want if you want to run a VTS on a B4/T4/SC10. I don't know if the rate is similar, but it is shorter than the updated V2 spring. This allows you more room for adjustment. To correct you again, it is listed as a part for the original B44.

I'm asking as I just got my Avid A-C hubs. My local track gets rough, but other tracks I run out of town are smoother
Just want to make clear that most AE setup sheets are refering to ballstud washers in .030" increments. A 1mm shim is .040". It makes a difference, especially when stacking shims.

You could get a Tekin Rs combo for $250 or an LRP combo for $260 or the Viper combo that was listed above. Just because castle has been around the brushless tech for a long time doesn't mean they are the best. Lots of other alternatives available. I would get a hobbywing setup before I got a castle.

Hey Nick,

If you want one of the slippers, just get the VTS. From what I can tell, they both offer similar performance, but the Avid is half the weight. It's ideal for 17.5 guys. I will have one eventually for my 17.5 car when I finally finish it, but since you run mod, it really doesn't matter much.

If you really want the Avid, make sure you grab at least 2 of what ever spur gear you want. Since you run mod, I would get 2 81's and 2 78's. If you ever decide to run 13.5 or 17.5, then you want 69 and 72 for spurs.

See ya at the track on Sunday. Bring your car with you so we can get it ready...even if you aren't going to run it.

Good point. I'm very guilty of this. I threw the blue 1mm shims on for the bling factor

When I can get clean 6 minute runs, I'll worry about those .010"

Hideeho
I have started using garodisk from rcshox.com & REALLY like it. I have done some stess testing on it doing repeated launches from stop. Once I got the preasure set (it only took 2-3 launches) it retained the exact same amount of slip for the next 20 launches. I have been running it for almost 2 months & the only time I had to touch it was at a different track that was REALLY loose (ended up with 2.5* rear toe to get it inline). I pulled it apart last weekend just to see the wear & I can tell it is used, but that is it. There is also no additional wear on the spur (wouldn't expect any) or on the aluminum plates. I am VERY happy with the Garodisk.

Too funny..... I was just having the conversation with someone last night or the night before about this. I was saying "if it was really that much better and worked, why don't we see Ryan and Ryan doing it. Even in testing. In today's age of social media, SOMEONE would get a pic"

Sure looks like it should. Honestly I really don't like all the excess wire I have going on and with you posting that I think I may have to make something similar to cut down on all the excess. It would be simple to replicate what they have there and cut out the balance boards like they have.

I just don't think your going to gain anything from running all your electrics centerline vs. standard. People might think there's an advantage or "feel" there's an advantage but this could be power of suggestion. Just because the Ryan's are doing it doesnt mean it works. Next race will probably see them running the ESC back in the standard position.
