Not the case so much anymore. Age of my packs vary from a year to almost 2, with very little IR increase on the old ones (10-11mv up from 8mv on my Hyperion) I don't feel any performance loss, which is harder to notice running mod.
My icharger had my gensace at 3mv new and not I am at about 5mv. Temperature and a few other factors seem to move that number around. My promatch was 6mv brand new never charger and after 8 cycles, is about the same. My gensace have probably 50 cycles on them. For $30, I really have no complaints.

The JC front hex axles are out and available on their site. They look pretty good.

So the gensAce could very well have the same cells as a promatch. In the old days, the companies tested and kept the best cells for their "Race" packs and used the lower rated cells for the "sport" packs. It does not appear that companies bother with that. And since Orion has the only 90c packs, I find something suspect about that. I would imagine reedy and other top sellers would have access to those same cells. But in my opinion the gensAce are very good batteries and will suit the needs of 80% of the racers and 100% of the people on a budget.
True, there are only 4-5 lipo cell "manufacturers"

There are different levels of cell quality available from each of them.

While I do believe that and it can be seen, this is the internet and the battery guys ain't talkin'.. very much

I got a little insight but not much more than posted here.

chargers vary, along with charger cable length, plug resistance blah blah, so I wouldn't say comparing our numbers would be fair. I've had about 20 different packs, several top brands and some cheap ones, on my charger and none have read less than 7mv

When you said increased IR I expected a much bigger number than the 2mv.

Again nothing really wrong with GA, people just shouldn't be surprised if they don't last a year. Some will some won't, just don't be shocked is all I'm sayin'.

channel my inner Cherry.....run Reedy, no problems ever..

sorry George, you've been quiet, had to poke you with a stick to wake you up

Speaking of Reedy, anybody have the new packs puff? I'm in need of a new saddle or 2, and like the all black look.

I've run Gens Ace in the past and have nothing negative to say about them. Good cheap stuff.

You don't want to run the V2 slipper spring with the VTS. It's too stiff and only allows for a very limited range of adjustment (it's basically locked down as soon as the nylon engages the threads).

Run the original B44 spring, it's shorter.

+1 There is a reason that chad due and many others use the b44 spring on their setup sheets. In fact every recent setup sheet I have seen from AE where the VTS is used, so is the b44 spring

And no one said the V2 spring wont fit, just that it sucks badly for tuning. The fact that chad didnt bother with the v2 spring should tell you something
