ok i will try that...

No i did not use the 4 shims.. it is not the mesh in the diff but the mesh between the (*ring/pinion*) which i think is odd.. i went by instructions then tried all combo's with shims gear side and what not.. i did my best.. i think i will just have to see if they *run in*.
thanks for the info on the pdf.

The gears are a little tight at first, but as Rcgod said, they will loosen up with a little bit of running.

Hey everybody.... I was wondering what a good system for this buggy would be?

I was looking at the Tekin RX8 with either a Tekin T8 2650kv or the Tekin Pro 4 3300kv or 4000kv

I was trying to read thru most of the thread but this is all new to me...thanks

Rx8 and 1700 or 1900 buggy motor is more than enough.

2650 is way too much motor and the pro-4 needs run on 2s really. The standard 1/8th scale set ups would be the 1900kv or the 2050kv from tekin.

This buggy rocks!! Anyone who is thinking of getting one.....go for it! You will not be disappointed. Running Tekin RX8 with 1900KV motor and 4 cell battery. Buggy is raced indoors and loves high bite clay!

Sweet thanks for the info...I wasnt sure if that was too much or not, Im used to the 1/10 systems...So is the T8 a good choice if I stick with Tekin?

Now are you guys running 3s, 4s, or 6s, Lipos? and what wheels/tires are you guys going with?

Most tracks have a 4s limit but many tracks will let you run 6s. If you run 4s 1900kv or 2050kv is a good choice (tons of power). If you want to run 6s 1400kv is a good choice.

It really depends on what you're going for. If you want a really lightweight setup for tight indoor stuff, and don't care about being roar legal, you can go with a lower kv Pro4 and 3s. If you want huge outdoor and long runtimes, a low kv T8 and 6s is the way to go. But if you want to be what most folks race and roar legal, 4s and a 1900kv or 2050kv T8 is probably the way to go.

Wheels are any standard 8th scale buggy wheel. Tires are specific to your track and conditions.

Nice buggy, and you're right, I love driving this buggy indoor on clay.

There is a switch mount on the integrated mud guard/radio tray. Be careful with your swith position. I can't tell if where the "on" position is, but it looks like you might have a buggy that will accidently turn off on a hard landing. I like my switches facing side-to-side or with the "on" position towards the front or towards the bottom so it is unlikely to turn off.

I'll chime in only because I run Kyosho springs as well. The light blue front with somewhere between yellow and orange in the rear works very well. I found that you can get similar driving characteristics with Tekno springs as well. The stock Tekno springs are very good for a lot of different tracks.

I found that the pistons and oil you use makes a significant difference. I also use Kyosho or Associated 1.3x8 pistons front and rear with Losi 45 wt oil up front and 30 wt oil in the rear. This setup works well for a lot of different tracks.

It is critical to get both spring rates and damping correct to get this buggy dialed.

Thanks for the compliments. I actually have not tried the Tekno springs yet. I was familiar with the Kyosho springs so I tried them and they are good so far.

The switch is mounted to the ESC case.
