Cain, thanks for all your advice. I will be racing it (whatever it might be) on an indoor track this winter at our LHS. I kind of want to buy new, cause i bought used on here with the 2wd, and i have had nothing but problems with it. The thing that attracted me to the RTR, is that is already came with a brushless system. I will be swapping out the rx/tx for my Spektrum radio. The track i am going to be running it on, is a very tight indoor offroad track.

Not a problem. There is someone I could recommend who has a used one who I feel would have one worth buying, but I can understand wanting a new one, nothing wrong with that.

I'd say go into your purchase with the understanding you will take it apart to set your diffs the way you want. And right way I would just call AE and get them to send you out the diff shim kit so it arrives when you get your vehicle.

that said, assuming your indoor conditions are say med to high traction dirt, you should pretty much purchase the following, at a minimum in my opinion (assuming here you are getting the free upgrade kit):

- Sway bar kit front and rear
- longer 12mm ballstuds to use on the rear
- shims to raise up the ball studs
- Front Spring Kit
- chassis weights to add as needed

If you need to purchase tires, go with the +3mm hazard wheels or something similar in offset.

My experience comes from indoor carpet, so you could consider that super high traction smooth surface. For me I liked the Kody Spektrum setup with a few mods to fight traction rolling (raising rear ball stud to 5mm) and going with the blue front springs on the rear gave it better performance on the track and a ripple section that would quickly work the suspension. However, I was at the time using a 550 sized motor so now, I may go with a lighter spring like the Green or white fronts on the rear.

It says he "modifed" the chassis, it does not say anything about "shortening" it.
From the looks of the pictures, It appears that the middle section of the chassis has been removed thus shortening it

I usually go by feel. But sometimes I will stick a piece of notebook paper in between and set it that way. 3 pieces of paper might be too loose.. but it depends what type of paper your using.

I still don't understand what everyone complains about. Figure out what your truck isn't doing, make the according set up changes to fix the issue. Done. Race. Win.

They do make other belts. You can buy belts in any tooth count you want.
Belts like these are used in all sorts of machines. Not just RC.

Is it really that hard to get a good set up on the SC10 4x4? Why bother with it then?

Makes me glad that the Prolite 4X4 is coming out then.....

I love this truck and have had success with it. But it costs $. same with any vehicle but this one needs it to be "on the level".

Any other 4x sc is pretty good outta the box
