Do not add motor or esc timing to a 6.5!!!!!!! If it is slow you are geared incorrectly or there is a bigger issue with the motor!! Add two teeth to the pinion at a time and temp every three minutes until you get it to 160 after 7 minutes and it will be a rocket!!

[QUOTE=JEFFs SC10;11340328]how much timing? I know i have to temp it.[/QUO. If your using a duo 3 give it 40 degrees of endbell timing and hit it with a little bit of boost using 18 tooth pinion and it will be a rocket

Jeff , a lot of guys bump the timing to smooth the motor down or bring better throttle control ..
Works great ....

can go the other way too , reduce the timing .

will make for slower , but not so good for control ...

Myself using timing turn up almost all the way , just one notch from max timing.

Thanks guys,

Hey quick question, what weight oil do you run in the front? 32.5 sound ok? I run on medium grip outdoor and indoor tracks with good size jumps.

jeff, forget what these guys are telling you... start with a certain pinion then start your lap counter. id say start with 18 t pinion and stock spur gear. then start going down in gearing and see if your lap times start getting faster or slower. head in the direction of fast laps and stop once you've passed the threshold of gains then stop there. motor temp, timing, and everything else can come secondary after this. if your getting huge top spedd at the end of strait then your over geared. you should be hitting top speed at 25% of largest strait then having p[lenty of time to slow down to make controlled turn. then all the smaller turns should be in relation to that.

as far as shocks... use kyo yellow springs in front and kyo white in rear. then as far as fluid run 35 in front and 30 in rear.

hahaha I totally get your humor/busting on me.... but honestly, these guys have him fine tuning on things when he's not even in the ball park yet. Its like telling a 400 pound man to start doing bicep curls instead of doing maad cardio and shedding 200 lbs first.

Just mounted BB's on my .1 tonight. I used the thinner .90 spacer on the front, at full droop it seems to have too much angle and puts bind/pressure on the shaft/whole shock. I'll get a 44.2 tower as soon as I can to resolve the issue..or maybe double the towers and grind the back one to get things to fit better. Not an issue at ride height, just at full droop.

On the rear I used 2 ball stud washers for a spacer and was just right with no issues, no need to use the full .90 like they tell you..

IMO

You obviously did not understand what i told him. I happen to frequent most of the tracks here in the bay area/ space coast. None of the tracks here have longer straights at the most being 100 ft or so with space coast rc being a exception and 18t would be plenty of gear to start. then dialing in up or down a gear like I said to start. motor temps and all that will fall in line with fast laps. Or are you more concerned with motor temps than fast lap times?? Gimme a break too I don't appreciate the insults. You can make a point without being insulting.

You should explain yourself better instead of misleading the guy and making it sound like myself and others have no idea what we are talking about when you are that guy not explaining yourself.
