B44.1 Thread

I'm running a LRP 7.5 in my 44.1 and it's super fast! I may put in a Reedy 8.5 instead to mellow the car out. The Avid slipper seems to be working very well in my car...the stock slipper had a hard time dealing with alot of HP!

I think the main problem is that the traxxas speedo is tall with the heat sink. I just installed my speed passion reventon pro which has a bigger footprint than the tekin rs pro and the orion r10 pro. I think a good basis is that if anything is taller than the top plate the body won't fit over it very well, if at all.

on my first b44.1 I started with a reedy 8.5(lacked to much power), went to a dualsky 7.5(power was better) but for the jbrl layout @ oc/rc I couldn't clear the back triple, ended with reedy 6.5..plenty of power everywhere. I just picked up a buddies b44.1 for a smoking deal and it has a tekin 6.5/rs pro setup on power is pretty good on it 2...I think 6.5 is where it's at on the mod wheeler unless you're running on a flat track w/lots of corners.

Can anyone recommend a starting point for a 9.5T?
I realize there are other considerations like timing, track size, etc. Just looking for a starting point running a B44.1 w/ a 9.5T on a medium size indoor clay track. I'm new to the B44.1
Thanks.

easily 23/78. you could play with another tooth or two, Im sure. But that should feel pretty good with that car and not get too hot.

Thanks. I'm getting the car tonight and running it for the first time this weekend at Timewarp. I'll be up at LHR sometime in November hopefully.

10.5 is the smoothest mod motor that can get all the needed speed with a little boost for the long straights if geared properly.
It kinda depends on your skill level too. If you are a very good driver than the 6.5 can work great. If you are just ok, stick with the 8.5-10.5 range.
