TLR 22 Racing Buggy Thread
Just forward to back, I think I'm over explaining this and making it complicated. For inline spindles run the spacer in front, regular trailing spindles run the spacer behind, and for 4mm trailing spindles it gets complicated.
i'll answer my own question...with my own answer from a month ago

mounting the steering spindles high / max droop will raise the front roll center. the a-arm's line intersects the camber link's line closer to the center, causing the green lines to intersect higher.
i think the black art of rc car balance is awesome! it's pretty much programming a mechanical computer

So tonight I will begin major surgery on my 22.
Need to rebuild the ball diff with the Tungsten Carbide diff balls, replace the front and rear shock towers, remove the 20* kickup and insert the 25* kickup and install the 5* caster blocks. As i bought this 2nd hand its currently a hybrid setup of the last guys, Coreys from the TLR website and some adjustments I made.
I will returning it back to kit defaults other then the parts listed above.
Total surgery time is around 2 hours.... wish me luck!

Turns out I already had the 5* casters, replaced the Kickup with the 25*. Replaced the shock towers, yep both bent.... then found out all 4 Shock mounting bolts are more crooked then a dogs hind leg.
So I got some titanium ones on the way.
Still need to do my diff..... cant be bothered taking it out of the car though..... hahahaha.
Best thing is to go to A Main Hobbies and search "DE Racing Borrego TLR" They have silver and black wheels that are colored thru and thru.
I didn't want the color coming thru when the wheels get scratched, so I used my dyed wheels as backups and bought the black ones. If you are trying to get another color, then dying is your only option.

Just got the water to a boil and put them in hanging (so they dont touch the bottom/sides) and went in deep enough that light scratches are still pink, only the deep gouges show white.
Only left them in for about 4 min, came out pretty damn close to the colour I wanted.
I've done quite a few with liquid rit dye, unlike others I boil them for 30 minutes or more I've even held them to the bottom of the pot. The color sets very deep, scratches don't show, and I haven't noticed any I'll effects with the plastic.
Thanks for the help I want to have blue or red wheels however I was concerned with glue sticking to them or colors turning out pink or baby blue etc and other issues so thank you for the help I may just keep white but I'm getting ready to glue four sets of tires and wanted to die first. All are brand new white wheels. Will try the dye and hang method... That came out a little creepy
Also seems like the lighter colored wheels help u keep your focus on your car better. Also yes, I do like the new colored wheels hoping they will use Honda and Yammi colors soon
