There will 120 plus 4x4 entries for this upcoming reedy race. half are gonna be this car, not really a dead class just selective in when people run theirs.

Guess you guys haven't seen the kits they part out on eBay....I bought a full set of FT shocks for my SC10 4x4 for $58 shipped..so I figure a few weeks after the new 44.2 is released the kits will start being parted out..you should be able to get the stuff to convert your 44.1 for half of what retail is..

true, there's a thread why 1/10 4x4 buggy is dead lol.

I bought a cherry b44.1 with all the bells n whistles and it pretty much has been a shelf queen since nobody is running them.

fun as hell to drive.

Hope AE/JC/someone will come up with an undertray, manual shows only a protective sheet for now. My B44.1 undertray is so beaten up that I wouldn't dare to run with anything thinner than that.

VTS Slipper - maybe a little overkill, the B44.1 slipper works perfect even on very high traction surfaces
BB's - nice to have, although this would mean buying new sets of springs
Narrower chassis - I like it
Quick release - now I might even balance the packs when charging between races

I was really wishing for gear diffs and an aluminium chassis (even as an option), but maybe we'll get that on the B45 .

---------- LE -----------
Oh, and when I was just about to say that I can't find any flaw to it: what's with the half-conversion to 12mm hex, and *still* standard hardware? Hope the old wheels will still fit, with the appropriate spacers on the axles.

Tape is way cleaner looking and cheaper than under trays therefor can be replaced more often so you don't have a ghetto snap tray on the bottom of your five diamond ride!

The slipper has always been a finickey to get perfect at the begining and end of a run. Many people have been looking for a better solution for a long time.

Don't complain about buying springs they are a quarter of the price of Kyoshos!!!!!!!

There is a reason it does not come with gear diffs and an aluminum chassis!

Nobody makes a front wheel with a 12mm hex the offset the B44 needs and everyone already running the B44 would have to buy all new front wheels and tires and people would be complaining about that! There is nothing wrong with the front hex they have been using for years. This is not a completely new car and would have to be completely re-engineered to accept metric hardware the correct way.

For example, any machined metal parts, IE motor mount. Would be a new piece with a new part number. Why go through the extra cost, that the consumer will recive. when some thing liek that does not have to be changed. and the customer saves.

Undertrays were used in the first one, Notice all the opening for the motor, and NIMH batteries. Once to lip. smaller lighter batter, coudl go a little higher. no big holes in tray, so the tape works well on a flat no hole surface.

Good point we would be the ones seeing the costs if they had extensive changes in machining of all parts!! I think AE hit a home run with this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chassis Film is way better than those cruddy undertrays that make a terrible slapping sound. The film is quite thick and holds up very well as long as you apply it to a completely clean (motor spray / de-greaser) chassis, and have all under chassis screws mounted well.

And I really welcome the VTS / Triad style slipper. I found the stock 44.1 slipper to have very little "sweet spot" adjustment room.

This is a really great looking kit, and I highly look forward to driving a 44 with the BB shocks!
