I am sure the rx8 is fine. it is just over kill imo. better used in 8th scale.

Unfortunately due to the nature of SCT 4x4 where we use high Kv motors coupled with low voltage packs (7.4V) for a vehicle that is in essence similar to a light 1/8 scale buggy weight wise, most of these are going to be power hogs.

Really wish they had made a 3S limit of some sort instead. I think that would have worked out much better.

I don't know what that means.

It uses about the same mAH as my 5.5 540 2 pole over similar run times, makes a bunch more usable torque, and it a lot easier to drive. A fan itsnt necessary but it's not a horrible idea either.

sorry, umm, what i ent is, I can use 40c packs now. would that HW 4k puff them like a revtech would.

and how is it easier to drive? I would think the torque would lead to tire spin in the light truck.

You Bet Chea !

Smoother so no wheel spin , top speed matched by non ....

Wins because Reedy Sonic's drive ability & control is so good on the corners...

Tracks around here tend to be dry slick, with huge "send it" doubles and triples right after a hairpin. With a two pole motor you would have to nail the corner for max exit speed to make it. That was a problem because your corner approach would be substantially different to the Shaft drive guys could just look at it and clear the thing (you might get run over getting the run up right). With a four pole, I can do that too.

Randy Pike described the 2 pole vs 4 pole motor as similar to the 2 stroke vs 4 stroke motorcycle engines. Two pole/stroke are soft on the bottom with a power band that hits hard, where the four pole/stroke motors just make t-o-r-q-u-e as soon as you gas it.

I'm the wrong guy to ask about batteries. I charge at 20 amps, I've never puffed one, I only have one battery per chassis I own, and I never have any issues. When I cycle them they aren't awesome, but I must have 150 cycles on the pack in my SC10 4x4, and I didn't buy them new.

SMC c-max 5600 60c. They are 1s batteries that you would run in a 1/12th scale car or a1/10th oval car. Last time I cycled them, they only did 2800 MHA to 3.6 volts, they are two years old, and I need to stop using them and buy some new ones.

Not if you run Thunderpower batteries like I usually do.

You can buy a 20 amp balancing charger under $90, and never wonder "Did I put a battery that was charged in?" again. Cleans up your pits too.

Sadly, I don't have the charger, power supply, the tools, or any parts anymore after some meth head stole it last Saturday when I was running the A at the Kimbrough 4:00, but I'll have something similar soon enough once they come off backorder.
