SC10 4x4 Thread
I have one hill left to conquer on the SC10 4x4. I run a stick pack, RX8, Pro4 4600, RCshox CD, RCShox dual stage pistons, added 2.5 oz in front, exotec chassis, 8mm mod...etc, etc. The truck is way better than it was. Trouble is, I put the body on and it doesn't drive well at all. I have a Pro-line Flo-tek body with Upgrade skins. It is heavy, thus making it handle way less. I have a brand new Flo-tek body I am just going to paint. Hopefully that makes a huge difference.
Anyone else run any of the other after market bodies? And if so, which one and how do you like it?

Hi guys, an update and thoughts after driving the Losi for the first time. The truck I bought of a club member in parts, many, many parts, lol, it has most if not all of the after market bits on it, and is lighter than my SC10. I did have a drive of it a few meetings ago before it was for sale, and hated it, fat pig like many have said, but if your like me, picking up somebody's radio set up for them I never like driving there car, just "feels" all wrong. I have raced my SC10 for over a year, and as some of you know have done many mods to it, it drives great, but you need to drive it like a touring car, and the way I drive I have found that hard on our bumpy track, I have always felt the slipper setup was an issue with the truck, but only after other guys in my club went to center diffed trucks. So after spending three days piecing the Losi back together using what diff oils etc I like in my 8ight, I thru this thing on the ground, the first thing I noted was turning, it turns great, anybody that says you can't set these things up to turn has no idea what there doing, surprised me a great deal, and while making very tight turns the rest of the truck does what it should, very planted. The power to the wheels is fantastic, as it should be. You have all heard they fly better etc so not going there, but it's very true. I think driving the SC10 has made me a better driver and I am in no way bashing on that truck, I stuck with it longer than most, but the "other" truck I'm sure will take me back to the winners circle with half the effort. This is just my thoughts for anybody that cares, not intended to be this v that.
RossNZ: it is what it is. People can bad mouth you about what you feel, etc. But all that matters is what you experience with the vehicle. Some vehicles work better for than others for a lot of people's driving skills.

That being said, I really do like my SC10 4x4, but like he says, i'm sure i'm podium with another truck. ( I went backwards switching from a Slash 4x4 to a Sc10 4x4 )

Is the Reedy 550-SL Brushless Motor with the SC1200-BL Brushless ESC known to get real hot? Im running a 14t pinion. Also the steering is fast. Is there a way to slow down the steering from the transmitter? I'm using the same servo in another sc10 4x4 and its much slower and easier to drive. The other sc10 that I'm having trouble with is all over the track with just a little turn on the steering wheel. I'm using the RTR transmitter(AE XP3-SS). Is there something on that transmitter I could adjust to slow down the steering?
My other sc10 4x4 is running the MMP, 1410 and 14t pinion. Within the same amount of running time the 1410 will get warm, but the 550-SL will get blazing hot.

Sounds like you need some expo adjustments / curve / speed / incremental movement values in certain ranges, etc.... The list goes on.. After a calibration of course.. I love my kopropo.
There are a few threads to lookup that cover servo speed related to input voltage and managing that with specific capacitor outputs through rx...
Enjoy your rigs.. hope that helps a bit...

What I've done in the past, drive 5 minutes, make a steering change (you can use methodthis for making any change), drive another 5 minutes and so on. The KEY is to take notes on what changes you made and track your lap times, hopefully your local track has the loop active during practice. The lap times are a big part of finding out what works, the car can feel "off" but your lap times can be faster. Don't be afraid to make changes, if you write down you current settings, you can't go wrong.
