Tekno RC EB48 Thread

I just want to make sure nobody misses the assembly note. I'll be posting it every couple pages to make sure everyone sees it:

-----------
Just a quick note to let you know about something we’ve come across during assembly of the differentials on the EB48 buggy.
The kit includes some small shims for adjusting the internal diff gear mesh. The instruction manual shows one small shim (TKR5146) behind each spider (small) gear. Due to manufacturing tolerances and variance between our pre-production parts and production parts, these small shims may cause the internal diff mesh to be very tight and crunchy. Simply remove the 4 shims and your diff should mesh normally.
Additionally, the differential mesh may seem smoother when turning the outdrive on the non-gear side. This is normal. The differentials will NEED TO BREAK IN before you run the car for the first time. To do this
Get your car ready to run, electronics installed, battery charged, ready to go…
To summarize: YOU MAY NOT NEED TO INSTALL TKR5146 (small shims). BREAK IN YOUR DIFF BEFORE USE. We will be updating the instruction manual with this important note. Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you!

- Step 1 – Place the 2 left tires on the ground, ensure they do not move. Rev up to 1/8th throttle for 30 seconds allowing the 2 right tires to ‘diff out’
- Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 right tires on the ground.
- Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 front tires on the ground.
- Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 rear tires on the ground.

Oh yeah, we are completely sold out of kits at our US warehouse. Our dealers should/might have stock after they process backorders, but otherwise, the first US batch is done.
International kits are making their way out of the factory this week (with a note about the diff assembly in the box). If we have any kits left over from our international orders, we might have a few more come here to the US before the 2nd production run is due.
As far as the 2nd production run, we are already started on it and we will revise the instructions slightly with more info.
Thanks everyone!!!

You have the third post on this thread and Glen has the first. I've noticed a lot of the other vehicle threads use those early posts as a permanent location for updates, tips, setups, etc.

+10000 on a 4wd short course. Keep same layout, shorten arms/CVDs for ROAR dimensions, add body mounts and done.
So sick of the budget kit garbage by the other manufacturers. By the time we fix all the short comings, we've spent more than we do on 8th scale cars.
First company to come out with a serious, real deal high quality (think 8th scale plastics and durability) 4wd short course will make a bundle. I guarantee 80% of the serious short course racers will drop their existing kits.

Tekno, Is the oil included in the kit de-branded mugen or associated oil, or is it tekno's own concoction? Just thinking about what would be the closest match once I run out.
BTW (I know this is repetitive) Who is RPP Hobby's distributor and have they gotten their kits? If you know.
