Not my pic. But this was on another forum. Lots of black instead of hard anodized.

Only the chassis and the shock bodies need hard anodizing. The towers and most of the other parts are actually a dark gun metal anodize (it looks awesome).

Not to mention, hard anodize is twice the price and would do nothing else more than jack the cost of the kit up. As stated, You really only want it where its needed.

I wasn't meaning for the frown face to say I was disapointed about the anodizing, I actually agree, it does look awsome. It was just an observation. The "" was because the picture of the kit was not mine haha.

Oh, haha. I hate waiting for stuff too. I've waited 3 years for this to happen, can't believe it's finally out.

I know how frustrating it can be just to get a couple small parts manufactured. I can only imagine what getting a car into production must be like. On the other hand, you do get to do it as a full time job, right? Life has its trade offs.

Hey guys,
Quick note - http://www.teknorc.com/2012/08/08/im...tial-assembly/

------------------------
Hello,

Just a quick note to let you know about something we’ve come across during assembly of the differentials on the EB48 buggy.

The kit includes some small shims for adjusting the internal diff gear mesh. The instruction manual shows one small shim (TKR5146) behind each spider (small) gear. Due to manufacturing tolerances and variance between our pre-production parts and production parts, these small shims may cause the internal diff mesh to be very tight and crunchy. Simply remove the 4 shims and your diff should mesh normally.

Additionally, the differential mesh may seem smoother when turning the outdrive on the non-gear side. This is normal. The differentials will NEED TO BREAK IN before you run the car for the first time. To do this

Get your car ready to run, electronics installed, battery charged, ready to go…
  • Step 1 – Place the 2 left tires on the ground, ensure they do not move. Rev up to 1/8th throttle for 30 seconds allowing the 2 right tires to ‘diff out’
  • Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 right tires on the ground.
  • Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 front tires on the ground.
  • Repeat Step 1 placing the 2 rear tires on the ground.
When done properly, breaking in the diffs will smooth out the diff action and ensure that they run freely during operation.

To summarize: YOU MAY NOT NEED TO INSTALL TKR5146 (small shims). BREAK IN YOUR DIFF BEFORE USE. We will be updating the instruction manual with this important note. Please contact us if you have any questions. Thank you!

Do tell if you did.

Hey Tekno,

I know this has been brought up already, when do you honestly think there will be a truggy version ready to hit the market?

I got mine put together just in time for first qualifier. I'm definitely not one of the fast guys at the track. On its maiden voyage I qualified 6th behind behind four of the Tekno team guys that have been testing testing the protos from day one. I ran the setup from the instruction build. Power plant was a Mamba Monster 2200 kV system with 14T pinion. Honestly - it was a bit too much motor for the combination of my skill level and track size. Way fast. The hardest thing for me to adjust to was the spot on steering and response. I found myself clipping pipes on the corners. I've never had a buggy that turned so well. The stock set up is very forgiving and makes this easy to drive from the get go.

I had one major full speed crash on our long straight where I literally jumped over a car midway through. My car cartwheeled the remaining straightaway and hit the wooden wall at the turn. I got marshalled and finished without a broken part.

I can't wait to actually get back to the track for some practice time.
