If it's the newer Spektrum stuff, it's not bad but latency is still not as low as I would like. First gen Spektrum, dump it now and upgrade to something better. Don't use Savox servos with it, glitching is a known problem with that combo. Savox and a Tekin with a Spektrum, don't even go to the track, leave it on the shelf. Futaba or JR servo with a Tekin or whatever speedo and you should be good.
It's a 3-4 year old DX3R.... Not the newer silver version.... I've considered upgrading for this next year, but it's hard to swap something you get so comfortable with
Will the Radiopost system work well? I plan on using an SXX with a Futaba servo.

As long as you have one of the newer receivers that have the internal capacitors (gen2 and newer) and you don't use the Savox servo it should work fine. I ran the micro receiver with the Tekin RS and the JR servo for a few years before I finally started having problems...most likely due to the antenna wire being damaged.
does anyone run on asphalt anymore and if so what shores would be run?
Stay with the pink family, double pink fronts, pink or soft pink rears is a good starting point. If you need more wear you can go to purple fronts, as Lonnie mentioned I've been using the contacts also, 35's front 28 or 30's rears.
