What servo would be sufficient to run in this truck?
Was looking at using a savox sc-1251mg .09 speed and 125 torque.
Will this do the job without any issues?

i would think more torque would be better with a corr. somewhere 160+

savox 1258 if you want speed - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ium-Gear-Servo

savox 1256 if you want more torque - http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ium-Gear-Servo

i like these two since the servo lead is long enough to not need the rx location moved. i have been very happy with savox servos after i finally gave them a chance

i do run an rx cap and have never had any power issues, even running a novak gtb2 with a trinity 550 motor and a 60c smc saddle.

IMO, stay away from savox. I have one.

Too power hungry for a majority of the bec's out there.
Your selection is lower than their titanium gear servos that cause problems (that's what I have) so it may not cause issues as long as you have a decent 3a minimum bec in your esc. But still, I would look into a hitec if you want something under $100 or one of the higher end $100+ servos.
You want at least 150 in/lb torque in a 4x4 of this weight.

I'm currently geared at 14/60 but I run on a small indoor clay track until they get done expanding it I may go up to a 15T

You don't need a fast servo with this truck, it has way too much steering as it is. something with .15 speed is PLENTY..

Default my set-up

Got this set-up on the truck, ready for the track tomorrow. Let me know what you guys think? I am going to try a 16t pinion, if temps are high I will go lower. That is a concern.

Raced today on a very rutty rough loose low-med grip outdoor track with 1/8 scale style jumps.

Today wasn't a good day. Kept popping off links off the ball studs front and rear. (buddy told me using wd40 to clean your truck will do that so I'll stick to Simple Green) And. the screws AND locknuts backed off the c hubs(dont' ask me how). I did not like the way the truck drove with that 8mm mod. It made me feel looser. I ended up taking them completely off and just putting 5 mm under the rear ball stud and calling it a day. Still need 12mm stud.

Truck was very inconsistent, not jumping right, etc. This was a dash for cash race so I really wanted to place. I had 3rd place in the bag until I bumped the pipe, another guy hacked me and then had a bad marshalling job(just my luck). Ended up taking 5th. Losi took first, Durango took second. The Losi truck was fookin dialed. The guy had it setup nice..

Track had a few blindspots cause driver stand wasn't high enough. I don't think I did bad considering I never ran at that track before.

But I know truck can do a lot better. At least I didn't have electrical problems this time..

After I drove three hours home and I was so pissed that I completely tore down the shocks and rebuilt them. Truck is still caked with clay right now. I can't wait to take this bitch back on the track tomorrow.

BTW, The 60 grams of weight in the front is WAYY too much. It made the truck pitch down way too fast. In addition the ballast fell off during the race. The track was extremely harsh on my truck and everyone else's too.

16 tooth is way too much , it'll be crazy, hopefully you have a 14 tooth pinion. You'll probably have to turn down power on your radio too. Otherwise looks good. What does track look like?

Replaced Savox with Hitec 7955, my brownout and glitch problems went away. I run a rx8 and pro 4 and that savox drained the bec.

I put the current limiter to 76. Also I did the twin fan mod (lotta dremeling)...but, I have the pinions 12,13,14,15....

Here is the track. I am not driving in the video btw. TLR driver Casey Peck built the track. Pretty sweet...

wow that's a nice but very technical track, wish you the best of luck. I think 16 is too much, unless you want to slowly roll up to a jump then goose it and hope to get over a triple. It's up to you, I'd rather have something a little tamer and smoother but that's just me. Is that a high grip track?

It is a clay mix. When the sun is out it dries up and gets a bit loamy (qualifiers). They water it about every 3rd heat race. When the sun goes down (mains) it is better.

that's cool man, I would do double single on that big triple, you'll be more consistent. Should be fun!

Yeah, I plan to do double double single on it. EVERYONE at that track, I'd say 10-12 guys run the Losi SCT. I think maybe 3 of us run the SC10 4x4....
