Hey guys, I'm looking to get one of these buggies pretty soon and I'm wondering if anybody out there is running saddle packs rather than stick packs. Do they fit alright in the battery trays and can you get to the connectors easily enough? I searched through this thread a little and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

Now, I've ran shorty packs in my Serpent, and loved them actually!! I ran them with spacers in the front, packs all the way back. Suuuuuper balanced, and handled phenomenally!

If you ran saddle packs, they'd fit, but depends on the mfr sometimes. Generally speaking, saddle Hardcase LiPo's are about 69.1mm long (x2 = 138.2mm), whilst a standard Hardcase LiPo is 138.5mm long.. Same height and width, for both. If you ran bullets w/o bulky deans or adapter wires, you shouldn't have a problem with the wires'/connectors' fitment under the body.

I like the shorty pack idea from a setup perspective too. Something else to consider for sure.

can anyone give me any ideas on how to keep the back end from sliding around? I'm running Porkchop's setup but today run 5k in the rear diff and 10k in center, thinking I might go back to 5-5-3 though. I would be so fast if the back end wasn't always sliding around turns

Try a little lighter shock oil. I settled on 35 front and 27.5 rear with blue front springs and yellow rear. Car was planted on a dusty unprepped track. That was with J Concepts Sub Culture tires.
