Hey guys, I'm looking to get one of these buggies pretty soon and I'm wondering if anybody out there is running saddle packs rather than stick packs. Do they fit alright in the battery trays and can you get to the connectors easily enough? I searched through this thread a little and couldn't find anything. Thanks!

If you ran saddle packs, they'd fit, but depends on the mfr sometimes. Generally speaking, saddle Hardcase LiPo's are about 69.1mm long (x2 = 138.2mm), whilst a standard Hardcase LiPo is 138.5mm long.. Same height and width, for both. If you ran bullets w/o bulky deans or adapter wires, you shouldn't have a problem with the wires'/connectors' fitment under the body.

Now, I've ran shorty packs in my Serpent, and loved them actually!! I ran them with spacers in the front, packs all the way back. Suuuuuper balanced, and handled phenomenally!

Will these parts list at your store? Also, what weight oil were you using?

Thanks, what I'm worried about is interference between the inset connectors and the little flip door on the battery tray. Especially if the connectors are in the center. I will just have to see. What is the depth of the battery tray?

I like the shorty pack idea from a setup perspective too. Something else to consider for sure.

I am going to put them on my online store soon. The ones i ran are 1.3mm 6 hole, radiused top and ported holes. I have 1.1mm 8 hole i want to try also. I think i am going to release it as a kit of 1.1mm 8 hole,1.2mm 8 hole and 1.3mm 6 hole. I will keep you posted on a price. They really worked well and the shocks are super smooth. Dampening was extremely consistent.

I would be happy to take a set also!

Another question:

I had a race at Barnstormers and I am wondering what shock springs you guys run on that track?

Thanks.

Fantastic man! That and let us know once you get those kickass countersunk wing washers on there as well!

Ooh, another great idea! Maybe you could make some alum wing cross-brace posts, as well?

can anyone give me any ideas on how to keep the back end from sliding around? I'm running Porkchop's setup but today run 5k in the rear diff and 10k in center, thinking I might go back to 5-5-3 though. I would be so fast if the back end wasn't always sliding around turns

Try a little lighter shock oil. I settled on 35 front and 27.5 rear with blue front springs and yellow rear. Car was planted on a dusty unprepped track. That was with J Concepts Sub Culture tires.
