Hey everyone. So I am coming back to 4x4 sc after taking a break because that class at our track became a hack fest. I ran an sc10 4x4 then and I am returning with the FT Kit. I have read almost this entire thread and WOW you guys did a ton of work on these trucks. BRAVO!! The first thing I want to fix is the leaky diffs. They drove me nuts before!! I read about the xray shims and want to know if the 5x7x.3 or 5x7x.5 are the ones I need. Also how is the bearing mod going? I couldn't find a picture of it(yes I used the search) can someone post or tell me where to find a picture please. Can someone with hands on experience tell me if the garodiscs are a good improvement over the stock ones. I have not driven the truck yet so I dont even know how well the new factory slipper works.

Or better, a slightly oversized 15 OD. Xray's a little more $.

I ran the Garo's in the stock slipper and they were better than HD's. I would think the same outcome in the new FT slipper.
Check the center diff while your at rcshox

Eh, I dunno man. Although I will be first in line for AE's Steelbushing Diffs, I have ran the bearingmod diffs for 3-4months? And not a single issue with my firstcut testset diffs. /shrug

Professional Nice work on those diffs though.

I just went to put on the Saddle pack conversion & stripped
2 of the 3x10mm FHS, putting on the L/R cradles???
The screws were going in nice & easy from the bottom of the chassis,
then half way thru they started get really hard to turn. I pulled them out
and tried again & when I got half way thru, they were impossible to turn,
and finally the heads got stripped. It is the same with both Left & Right cradles..

What is going on, was I suppose to thread the screw holes??
I'm using the Exotek chassis, but that had nothing to do with it...
Now I have to get the screws out, with a dremel and
get more 3x10mm FHS, great!??

by the way, I'm using the AE saddle conv....
help if you have an idea what went wrong?

The Exotek might be thinner so you are getting to the bottom of the hole before the screw is tight against the chassis. Try shorter screws.

I didn't think of that, I figured I would have seen it, somewhere
in the thread.

THX

WHat are the other saddle pack conv. I can use??
I have the RX8 & it looks like the Exotek Saddle Pack mounts will leave
alot more room for the RX8 ESC..... I know there is another out there
but I may just order it.

There are two saddle conversions for the Exotek available from Exotek, roughly 30 and 35$

What pitch gears are you guys using when using a 540 motor? I thought it was 48 for 540 and 32 for 550. But my 48 pitch pinions are getting destroyed in this monster.

Run steel pinions.

If you're running a 4 pole motor then the 48 pitch gears aren't up to it.
