Yeah, I don't know exactly what they cost but if it is anything more than the dirt cheap AE shock tower that works perfectly well, then it better give a significant improvement. I just can't imagine what that would be. If you are in it for the bling, they will definitely look cooler than the stock shock tower. It could be that I'm just a cheap-skate too.

I like cheap bling. Or useful bling.
Cheap: Four bucks for blingy wheel nuts vs. Two bucks? Bling.
Useful: Avid steering rack for twenty bucks? Yeah, ok. Looks cool, does something, won't break tomorrow. Bling.

~$70 for a full set of "Black Diamond" shock shafts that are *slightly*, barely smoother than the golds? No. STFU and GTFO.

Default Reedy Sonic 10.5t w/Viper VTX10 ESC?

How should a Reedy Sonic 10.5t motor work with a Viper VTX10 ESC? I do have the programming card for the ESC, if that matters.

Thoughts?

I've got a couple of VTX10's and they work great. The Reedy will be plug and play and should be a good all around motor. Are you looking for ESC setup info? For that you will need to do some tuning to the track you are running on.

Thanks a ton for answering my question. The screw bottomed out and I was worried that I didn't install the horn in properly.

Thank you,

Joe

I believe it was 3 oz. Its a decent size chunk of lead. I'm gonna try it and see how I like it

Slop

Do you guys bother shimming the front end parts as they wear, or just replace? Specifically, the arms and caster blocks.

So I was just messing around, and geared a Castle 4600kV 1410 4-pole at 81/25 to throw down some high speed runs.. wheeee

The issue is that at, I'd say 5/8 to 3/4 throttle and higher, the car wants to pull right pretty badly (not a desired effect when running down a residential street at high speed). At low and moderate throttle, it tracks straight and true. I can't get rid of the high speed pull unless I crank the steering trim all the way to the left, which makes it pretty difficult to control. It's easier to give it about 5 degrees of countersteer at high speed.

So, I checked my aerodynamics, they're "level", or equal from right to left (no bent wing, body is level, etc.) - is this just some kind of torque pull, or is it a mechanical issue? Bearings seem legit, too. I'm sure there are a couple of high-speed aficionados here...

Once I get this sorted, I'm going to throw a 46t pinion on here and some 1/5 scale tires, and I should have no trouble hitting 300+ mph. At least, according to the RC speed calculator site.

Hey guys bagging setting up my car for the carpet track because everyone is going to race on our new 1/10 scale outdoor track. What is a good baseline team setup, smooth hard pack clay with no supercross jumps.

Fixed.
