Just put the bearings in it and don't worry about it!

Unless Duane starts watering it up, no way.

I got something extra going on for the next 10 days and I can't race till Wednesday.

i just finished up the 'bearing mod' today and it is definitely tighter then any amount of shims i could put in without it binding hah

bearing mod is as tight as a bound up sun gear

even really cheap/easy to do... just takes 4x 5x10x3 bearings and a cutoff wheel & sanding drum for a dremel

Is it vital that you don't take off to much?
How do you measure it? Take the thickness of the bearing off the case?
I'd you take to much off can you shim it tight again using the smaller outdrive shims that go out side the diff case?

On another note, I'm still having temperature issues on my truck.
I have a 4000kv Tenshock and it had the 32 pitch 62 spur & a 15t pinion.
I keep hearing conflicting information on pinion sizes. I only have a 14t but am able to borrow a 17t and I feel it needs the bigger pinion but others have said it needs smaller.
Any advice please guys.

I measured down to half milimeters when I was sending them to guys. So Yes it is.

Don't use any extra shims inside diff , just replace any that that are not smooth & flat....

Advise to replace metal gears & shims together as both wear and need replacement together...

# 9831 seal set
#9829 gear diff rebuild kit
A few months ago there was no need for those shims Cherry. You change your mind more than my wife. You are 100% correct on one thing though. I do not have a clue, what you are talking about. You are such a tool bro. Now back to your regular programming.

I've been running my SC10 4x4 for few months now, nothing broke, I even transformed my SC10 into a 4x4 stadium truck.

I know it depends on how abused the truck is but I was wondering, how long the belt last...

I bought the original sc10 4x4 when it came out early last year and currently my friend owns it and it still has the original belt on it that it came with and it has been both raced and bashed and is still holding up strong........

Hello,
I just picked a sc10 4x4 and am on a very limited budget. I will need to run the truck with a 540 7.5 motor for a while. I wanted to get a 550, but its not going to happen. I dont want to kill the motor too soon, because I wont be able to replace it. I will run using a CC MMP esc. I have several 48 pitch pinions, so I plan to use the 93t spur and maybe a 17t pinion in the truck. The track is an 8th scale 15 foot lane track run out doors on we clay. Holeshot style tires are used mostly if that helps. I am trying to get my temps down and am looking for any esc programming / gearing / tuning tricks I can do to my current truck without have to resort to armed robbery. I know I am not running the "ideal" config and the easy answer is go spend $200, but I just cant at this time. So any help would be appreciated.

To ALL those who shared their thoughts, opinions, and set-up info a few pages back with regard to my questions... THANK YOU & its very much appreciated!

Its been mentioned before but this thread has helped this truck get better by leaps and bounds. I have no doubt everyone on here is doing testing for AE and their keeping an eye on what is going on and what works to improve the kit... its obviously why so many of the mods that were shared here here first ended up on the FT SC10 4x4.

Kudos to you all and keep it up.... cause I'm sure many of us will be hitting you with more questions soon!
