Lrp xxx comp v2. What should I do and should I do it. I have never messed with the esc only to calibrate it

So it's not that they are a bit lower than the A and bit higher than the C?

or the hole are more to left/right?

Thanks
I actually did mean A Hubs not B Hubs and yes the difference between the two are the holes are just move over inbetween the A hub with the B hub.

JFuel11,

Yeah, I have been running my Sphere Comp with my 10.5. And I love the feel a lot. And yeah, the drag brake on it is way smoother then the MMp i have. I did like 4 laps with the MMP in my b4 and pulled it out. People tell me its just as smooth as my LRP, but to me it was like a Rod Rod vs a Italian sports car. The MMP was faster, but a lot less elegant on the throttle and brake. In my 4x4 truck the MMP is fine because it weights 100 lbs and its less noticeable, lol. But in a buggy, I dont like it.

I see a lot of ppl doing blinky, gear up to make up the speed. This seems odd to me, I am probably still in the brushed mind set. But.. If I wanted to gear up with my 81 or 75 tooth spur what pinion do you think I should start with? I actually dont have any pinions over 22T, lol. So i would have to go buy a couple.

omfg, I totally didn't know what "C Hub" meant. I have the alum hubs with the upper that say "A" on them. So I have "A" hubs"? Being away from the hobby for a few years, I feel like a complete noob.

But, I have my concerns about the BH 120 fitting in my B4, not 4.1. I have the original B4 FT body on my car. Its the interceptor I think. I mainly run 10.5 to 13.5 and would need to boost up the timing for 13.5 for sure, not 10.5. I cant drive a car much faster than 10.5 without snapping off arms, lol. I just require enough power to get over the jumps on the track that everyone else can downside. Do you think the 120amp BH will run cool enough in my b4? I am sure without the fan it will "fit", but stan told me not to try it. So, I have not purchased one yet.
I ran one in my B4.1 Worlds for a week or so. The ESC fits just fine with the fan off. I was running 17.5 blinky. It was smooth and had good power. Even after a 20 minute practice run the ESC was warm to the touch but not hot. I did not temp it but I was not concerned by the way it felt. Even with the fan off the wires pointing streight up were kind of a pain to get the body on. I switched to a Tekin RS which has a much lower profile and I am much happier with it. Other then the wires sticking streight up, it fits, stays cool enough, and power is the same as the tekin.

I have nothing against caslte but even the older LRP ESCs are some of the smoothest in the business!

I have ran most escs out there rather it was Tekin RS, Casle MMP, LRP & Novak and I still feel the smoothest I have ran is the LRPs even the old ones.. Now I have not ran the Tekin's since the upgraded the software for a smoother feel.

With all that said I personally don't think you are going to gain a lot by upgrading speed controllers since the boosted stock class racing is over.

I would suggest gearing up your 10.5 combo which will add even more power and make it a bit smoother. If you need more power save a few dollars and upgrade to a 9.5 or 8.5 motor. Depending on brand... Trinity motors... 9.5s... Reedy motors 8.5s... (My two personal choices)

Regarding your gearing... I would suggest 81/25 or 26 with the 10.5 would be a good starting point and then up from there if it is a big track.

The power profile settings are still good to play with on the Sphere Comp as they do make a difference on power an feel of the esc.

FYI I still run an LRP Spher Comp in my mod sct...

Let me know if you need any addtional help!

Are these the correct shock shaft sizes that are in the worlds kit.

Yes you can use your existing shock shafts in the conversion. The FT TiNi Shafts are nice and will operate a little smoother than the stock shiny ones.

JFuel,
I think that is solid advice. I dont know a lot about the power profiles on the esc aside from the fact it goes from 1-8. I assume they get more punchy as the number increases? I think I am at the defaults now. My Sphere and 10.5 come of the track pretty much room temp.

You are correct as you go up in profile it will gain a more aggressive acceleration curve. Start with gearing up your 10.5 and see how you like the power. What brand motor is it?

Kdub you gonna be at AMS next weekend? If not is someone gonna be there so I can buy some the collars and springs?

Like many of you, I started testing the 12mm springs with Traxxas upper adapters, but they didn't stay concentric and they were a pain to adjust ride height. Because of this simple design, you get all of the function for almost half of the price. It all looks like one piece once it's installed.

Tip: If you haven't already notched your small shock collars, add a notch in them to help align the adapter set screw on installation and to help it lock to the inner collar. Make sure your collars are at the same height on both shocks before notching them!

Keep in mind most of my stuff is 3 years old, because thats when I moved away from all tracks, lol. But its a 10.5 novak with the sensor cable fixed to the end bell.
