lol. I was agreeing with your Ah Man

I was hoping they were coming out soon. I kind of wanted them.. instead of spending the 50+ bucks on a set of springs for the Buggy

It's all good.

Have you tested the Losi BB springs and compared them to the Avid?

(By good, I mean they are flat and don't deflect when you compress them).
Did you ever run the Losi BB springs?

I am currently running those. I was trying to hold off on Avid springs till the AE BB's came out... well if my Birdie was correct. I will just either stay with the Losi springs or go get the Avid and the GHEA collars. all in stock at my LHS.

Brent , been using the losi 12mm (silver ft & white rear)

Losi performance is not even close to new Avid springs and promise you will find a big improvement with handling & traction....

I have tested the losi springs...they work just fine on certain surfaces. I run the Kyoshos more often though, as I own all of the rates. And they are a spitting image of the avids as far as the consistency, quality and the feel goes. And your shock collars will be pretty evenly matched across one another too. The losi's seem to have different tensions from pair to pair. The avids are VERY high quality at a better price than the K springs. I've never driven the avids, I have only compaired their tensions side by side with the K's and they are ever so close to being clones of one another.

i have tried both but only in certain rates..at my local tracks the losi springs are always red front and the only switches i have seen is in the rear..yellow is the most common and to me a very responsive/aggressive feel ..i tried the white rears and felt it made the car feel slighly less aggressive but very predictable..when i got the avids i ended up runnin red/ red (on stk buggy) after testing some differnt rear rates and i liked that combo alot ..to me that combo feels very similar to the red frnt/ yellow rear losi combo..spent 50 bucks on springs and they sorta feel the same to me..nice to have the tuning options to test and learn from tho.

On medium to high grip tracks, I like the Kyosho "whites" front and rear. If the track has really good high bite, then I will put the gold K rears on with the white fronts.

You think so?
I checked it and it was at .060 which is 2 washers before I shaved it.

I'll check again when I get home. I got a lot of adjusting to do after last night

When the B4 originally came out in 2003 it was flat. All the pros were adding 2-4 shims and when noobs on the internet tried to copy them the ball studs would just pull out with so few threads left since they didn't use longer ones. The bump was a running change since no ft setup called for fewer than 2 spacers (.060) and it made it more durable.

Free... I do not have proper tool to remove that amount of carbon/nylon. I would need to buy or borrow a dremel.

Not to mention the time to do that, just might be worth more than $15. LOL

Same here, white/white for med/low bite and golds for higher traction conditions. Love the feel of this combo.

I have on my SC10. They are okay, the Avids are better because the length (and the rate) right for the AE stuff. They are also ground completely flat.

This was my big bore spring collection several months ago, it has grown since then:

If you are happy with your setup on the Losi springs, I wouldn't expect any advantage to moving to the Avids.

Avid is supposed to be selling collars here pretty quick, I have GHEA on my SC10 but my RB4.1 has the leftover Traxxis parts from my BB conversion on the short bus (needed the room from the GHEA collars), but nothing fancy on the RB4.1.
