SC10 4x4 Thread
In all forms of racing, there is a company that is first to design. Then other manufacturers follow and try to improve the design to get an edge. Thats just how R&D goes.
I am not a fast racer and race for fun although I do try to improve my skills so I will not make comments about who is fast, faster, or fastest... but...
I love Associated but someone on this forum has their head so far up Team Associated's arse it isn't funny!
Lots of good stuff out there that works and works well. One manufacturer is not the catch all end all to answers of winning races! To close one's mind completely to other products demonstrates where that head is.
Stepping off my pedastal.

Anyways, I should be able to finish up my Method Hellcat body today finally. I've been playing with a cheap airbrush from hobby lobby, painted a bulldog for my ZX-5 and it turned out nice so I'm excited to finish it!
Craig or Cameron, where do you have your body posts set? I've always used them all the way down, but I don't think the front of this body will clear the bumper.
To go go by that rational, traxas made the first production SCT so do you not give losi, AE, hpi, ofna and others credit for improving the SCT?

absolutely nothing except it says FT on it!! Its basically made so the team guys dont have to use aftermarket parts and can win with a "stock" truck. nothing wrong with that but it is what it is. After seeing how Cody and Steve manhandled their trucks this past weekend i can safely say that on anything except blown out huge tracks the SC10 is a beast. The losi's were not agile enough to hang with the SC10's or the few durangos that were there. I kept spitting out spur gears on my AE so switched to the Rango for the rest of the weekend I qualified 3rd in the pre race with the AE with absolutely no changes in my setup. I wish i could have got it dialed in but was already having issues with my 2w buggy and didnt want to fight two vehicles all weekend.
What was the issue you were getting with spur gears? Anything to do with the ball diff?
Any concerns though with heat in that area using plastic versus metal?
cain , So far I don't think heat is much of a issue .
One other thing the Ae V2 slipper has going for it.
Those big tabs on its pads so no way the pads can slip or rotate inside the basket.....
I refuse to believe there really is somebody like cherry in real life. he has to be a massive troll.

On the Hellcat body I run the front in the 3 hole and the rear all the way down.
First off WC is real, he just a little different kind of guy. Most take him a little more abrasive then others. He can wheel pretty good at times.
I have to agree with alex. WC always has some smart ass comment about everything he has or does is better. Hey WC- it seems like you're the one who always gets off topic and goes off tooting your own horn!

NOT a ball diff thing. It had to do with the reverse motor rotation idler idea he is working on.
I've been running the FlowTek bodies and really like them. My current one is the Chevy Silverado and it's holding up very well. Thicker than the stock bodies but not too heavy. Nice low profile with good venting depending on how much cutting you want to do. I use 2oz fiberglass tape and shoegoo to reinforce critical areas before I run it. Keep the shoegoo thin and it stays light. Staying clear of Losi's by driving around them helps the body last longer too

Thanks everyone! I'll do some more research and see what works best for me.

And once again, Wild Cherry George shows he doesn't know what he's talking about.
