To each there own. There both good in there own aspects. My Buddies Savage 5.9 would run with and over my E Maxx BE on 4s all day. I like electric, but someday plan on a RTR nitro. I'll prob. get the TRX Sport thing. The little cheap one.

Well, I am a Nitro guy though I had plenty of brushed electrics back in the day.

I just bought a 4.6.

Okay, a Savage X 4.5 will run you around $465, a bit less some places. Comes with everything but fuel.

The Savage Flux HP will run around $640, a bit less some places.

About $175 price difference.

Now, if you run it at its max, 6s, thats 6 batteries and you will really want like 3 sets of batteries so thats a total of 6 3s Li-Po's.

Say around $50 each at the lower end and thats $300 in batteries.

Then a charger of course. Probably like $125 for a good one?

So out of the box, you are looking at $1065.

The Savage with a gallon of fuel to start will be under $500.

Of course, you will have to buy fuel quite a bit and glow plugs but the start up for the electric is a good twice as much.

Thats of course going with a top end truck with max batteries.

You always run a risk of a battery going bad. Li-Po's are great but not bullet proof.

I do see the appeals of electric and will not for a second knock anyone liking electric.

True, you can buy say just two batteries but then you got a long wait between charges. I would want to have 1 set running, one set ready to go and another set on charge. Thats me.

Probably would want to consider a charger that can charge two batteries at once or a second single charger.

Kind of the opposite now. When brushed motors was the standard, I started to drool over nitro though nitro has been around for quite a while.

Now many drool over brushless over nitro.

No denying the fact that brushless performance is off the charts, especially with the high end electrics.

No denying that one makes a lot of noise and the other goes 'wheeee'.

im going to be selling my nitro savages soon. yes they are cool. but just not me.

i have a x ss 4.6 and a parts savage 25 im throwing a spare .25 in. unfortunatly you cant seem to get anything for the nitro savages anymore.

I would agree I think there is so many out there they sell pretty cheap.
