The rtr version is ok for starting off. If you Have no electronics and want a quick start into the racing it's great and can hold its own. I ran for a year and did ok with the rtr stuff. I recently got the we b4.1. I love it and wished I would have got the ft first. But I gained valuable info and wheel time at a more cost efficient way. After you buy the rtr and race for a while don't upgrade just buy the we and save the old for parts and bashing as cost to upgrade is not reasonable

The Traxxas collars bind the top of the spring up, there to tight. A spring needs to be able rotate freely on both ends to have a true rate. Thats the only reason i like the GHEA collars. Unless be Traxxas ones were off, the Losi springs were tight on the plastic, not good.

I forgot to say it was the tapered pistons, yes i dont think there would be any difference between the standard #2 over the AE #2's. Now If you cant tell much difference with the tapered pistons, then you need to work on feel.

Yeah, that AVID rack looks nice, i'll just get all the above. Excited about the springs thou.

You must have gotten a bad set of traxxas colars, mine fit good and the springs don't bind at all, losi springs don't shift from one side to the other and they spin freely,I just did the hex conversion and I'm very happy with the kit, next will be the avid rack and then do my tierods in gold

Have not seen the Avid springs available to the public. Mostly just team drivers I think have them.

I have been using the TLR 22 cups for the bottom with Losi springs.

They were selling them at Hobbytown SRS during the Cactus Classic. Picked up a set before they sold out. They are around, just depends were you look I guess.

i tried, stock brown green springs, dk yellow kyosho, bb springs
stock a.e landed good, car had a lots of off power steering
dk yellow- landed great, jumped great, felt much better than stock
bb- lazy, more mistakes, less steering and more of a lazy pushy car...silver front, white rear btw.

I still am waiting for kyosho springs bb to try... right now, dk yellow kyosho

as far as pistons, red losi felt really good on the landings, more pack, less slapping and a smoother landing. =]

They were only available as sets. Fronts have 4 different rate springs and rears have 3

you car must have been way off with the bb springs,ya its a little more lazy but way more predictable, easier to drive and way more consistent.my car dosent push at all its good all the way through the corner.Im running red/yellow with a shorty 1.5 pads back.you like the losi red pistons better then the ae #2?

so say 26 for the rear divided by 3 is almost 9 bucks a pair, not bad at all and still way better then 20 for the kyosho
