I'm curious to know the theory behind the oversized insert on the carb (not referring to the diameter of these inserts, but the length) Some tuners use them, some don't. I have seen a couple of Matt's engine and he uses them.

I think is acts like a velocity stack.

^^^ Yes you are rite in a basic answer however there is other reasons for this restrictor.

A lot of designs are around but they all go buy a basic princible of how the air enters the base of the carb this princible is for all forms of motor sport cars trucks bikes and rc cars

longer stacks create more torque compared to a similar designed shorter stack

were as a shorter stack of the same design can create more rpm

however there is a point were you cancel it all out by going to long or too short

its manily used as a tuning tool

the theroie (spelling) is the air going through the slide potion of the carb is a lot denser with both designs however the longer restricter slows it down there for creating more torque but still making it dense, were as the shorter stack it goes through a lot faster making it give the engine more rpm with less torque.

i tried my best to dumb it down if you wont more of a detailed explanation just ask also you need to take into account the ve of the motor as well for it to work or just try a few things and see what happens

A clubmeeting is not representive. We had a 1st clubrace all with a cheap N21-5T engines and the guys who are always fast were also fast this time and all the guys who were slow (even with faster engines) were still slow.....
It is al about who can set the best gearing, the best car setup, get the best tuning on the engine and ofcourse drivers experience.

If it is really fast then it must be the best choice and a winner on all races and I bet it is just another toplevel engine to compete with the rest.

Just another engine maybe.

This engine just finished 3rd in the Serpent Tour Australia with a really shit clutch i really have to work on my clutch setup will be testing this week.

But overall the engine has a bucket load of power very reliable tuned the engine 1 time each day over 3 days and it stayed in tune all weekend.

At first i wasn't making 5min run time but before the last qual i checked my fuel tank capacity and was way under lol so we fixed the tank problem on the Serpent and made run time in the last qual in the finals we done 1 extra fuel stop just to be safe and finished 3rd.
All i can say is when i get my clutch setup right this engine will be the fastest and most reliable engine in my pit bag and this is my first RB engine and i own 6 nova's.
So lets see how it goes at the NSW State Titles over easter with alot of heavy competition.

Will report back.

I know there was a few guys running the TG RB at the serpent Tour anyone else have and feedback or reports on the Engine..........

Perhaps so; there are other fast engines. We'll see; but I'm with Ryan and Aaron on this, and I'm just claiming that this engine looks seriously fast. It's obviously very competitive our there; so we'll probably won't ever see an engine that is "a winner on all races", and I also have heaps of faith in our Capricorn LAB EO1/BC for also being up there amongst the very fast engines if we can get tuning and clutch dialed in perfectly.

Kindest regards,
Lars.
