If you want to fit a quality fast gear into the MO3 or MO5 then get the ABR delrin 33Tooth gear from Tim at Mchassis. I used this in my MO5 at TITC and had no binding issues at all.

I think you will find most of the melbourne guys are fitting these in there velodrome mini cars.

I don't see it on Tim's site. Didn't you run an ABC Grid at TITC? How did that go?

During the lead up practice days prior to TITC, I tested a MO5M with speed gear set, A SWB Grid and a MWB Grid.

For the control practice and finals I used my MWB Grid, I qualified third in the B final and finished eightth overall in the B. I was reasonably happy with the result, let down by my use of a lower voltage battery in the second B final.

I now that I purchased my ABR 33 tooth spur of Tim a while ago and have a spare somewhere in my pit bag. They also do a 36 tooth spur gear in delrin.

Thanks for the link. Looked at all the other links except the velo. Have you used the Tobee Craft gears?

Hmm mwb Grid? Was it the CF chassis?

I have used the Tobee craft gears with no issues. just seems harder to get these now.

My MWB Grid is two SWB plastic chassis's, that have been accurately cut and shut together and an extension piece constructed for the top deck. I used the Ride Subaru shell at TITC.

The Team ABR stuff isn't exactly widely distributed, is it? Can't find their stuff anywhere.

Ran my M-03 in GT class today. S grips, brand new/not broken in Mabuchi, completely open gear diff. I haven't had that much fun in a long time. I knew I was going to lose but didn't give a rat's ass. Good times!

ABR is hard to find. I've only seen them on Tim K's store. Maybe other Aussie sites like feral batteries might have it. Hello cannon?

Thought you had some go fast items in the car being that you ran in a different class.

I was going to run my Xevo, but that didn't work out, so I ran with the lightest M-03 I could build without making Swiss cheese of the chassis. My go fast parts were the 3Racing fast gear set (absolute crap and now residing in the garbage bin behind me) a Yeah Racing locked diff (made the car a complete pig) and some RP Takeoff slicks (super grippy, but really slowed down the top end, seeing how I chucked the fast gears into the trash, which, coincidentally was the fastest they've ever moved.)

In our VTA/GT class, I shared the track with our VTA cars (21.5T BL w/timing) and an FF-03. Other usual entries include F103GTs and assorted carbon fiber hot rods. I had no chance, but had a really great time anyway.

Looking to get some more fun/speed out of my M05 which motor do you recommend

I've read that the 13T 3000kv, is comparable to the silver can which i want to replace.
The 9T 4300kv which is cheaper, would be faster - right?

The 13T is faster than a silver can. It's actually directly comparable to a Sport Tuned black can, but with loads more torque. It's a great combo and has become the world standard for mini. That would be my first choice.

Also, Black Cans tend to have a rather short life span, especially when compared to a brushless motor. You already have a brushless ESC, I assume?

I have a Intellispeed DRXM1059, which says its for 18T motors and doesn't state that its for brushless. So looks like im grabbing a new esc also.

Looking at ezrun combo for $70 or should i look elsewhere?
Id rather spend a little more up front so that i dont have to replace it in the short run but i havent read anything negative regarding ezrun.

The HW ezrun is reliable as heck. The guys in Australia have been running the bag off theirs since 2008/9 and haven't seen a failure yet. Very good bang for the buck.

Hi just some pics from titc 2012.

1. Gambada short wheelbase of 2nd placer. Body is short Suzuki Swift by ABC. He used oil filled gear diff, felt medium action (not locked). Shocks also felt medium dampening.

2. M05 with interesting clear case lipos.
