Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting here. I just bought a Losi 22 and after driving it for about 5min in my backyard the throttle just stopped working. I took it inside and noticed that the steering still works. The motor was still cool but the ESC was hot to the touch. I just bought this car and this was my first run.
The battery I'm using is a Traxxas 7 cell 4200Mah 8.4v battery that the hobby store employee recommended
I was driving the car on flat grass, I'm from Canada, so the grass was still packed down from the snow. Also, The car was in half throttle mode. My backyard is pretty small, so I wasn't even able to reach full throttle.
Has this happened to anyone else? I'm thinking of sending it in for repairs and I'm wondering if the ESC is covered by the warranty. I know the ESC is dead because I took it to the shop where I bought it and they tested it.

I just built up my 22 last weekend and drove it 3x now. I absolutely love it.
When I first built it one of the things I loved was how slop free everything felt, but now I'm noticing some front end slop.
I'm still learning to drive and bounce off the pipes/wall from time to time. I've noticed a fair about of front end play coming from (what seems to be) the ball cups when I wiggle the front wheels side to side. Is this normal? Is there an upgrade (RPM) ball cup that is a little more durable? They're not broken just sloppy which seems kind of quick.
I understand that once I stop bouncing off things this may be a moot point, but I need some help until I get to that point.
Thanks!

Guys,
I am working on setting up my 22 per the Frank Roots standard setup. All of my parts arrived yesterday and I got to work on it this evening and have a question.
Does the 25* brass kick shim just get stacked along with the stock 20* shim? To me it is the only way that it makes sense as the brass kick shim is the same thickness front and back.
Did I install it right or am I missing something?
Robert

EDIT: i just looked it up and it does work with an 8.4 pack. I would call Horizon and talk to them about it as it should be under warranty, or if your hobby shop is good, they will take care of it for you.

I would call it medium grip, once the track grooves in. Today, because it was the first day on the new layout, I started on Green JC Goosebumps with Green Groovies up front. That was for Q1 and Q2, During the break between Q2 and Q3 I tried Gold V1 Barcodes, with MC Scrubs up front (my go to combo). The Scrubs had just a touch more steering (which I was looking for), and the Barcodes were working good too, so I stayed with them for Q3 and the Main. The Gold JC Barcodes are most consistent as the moisture changes (not much of a problem in the winter), but pretty much any of the clay compound bar style tire work fairly well. Today was the last round of our 13.5 buggy points series, so I was running 13.5, but my runs would have put me TQ in Mod also. It was strange, normally I go to Green Double Dees as an interim step between the Goosebumps and Barcodes, but the track grooved up really quick this time. I think they kept the dirt a little more wet while packing the new layout, and sprayed WD40 on the dirt to keep it from sticking to the packer. I guess for like the first 20 laps last night the track was a skating rink.
