This time from a driver to his pitman after a 45 min a-main: Flame-outs at every pitstops due to a worn out engine.

Driver: "Damn, you have to be a REALLY fast driver to win races with such an engine!!!"

He finised second on the same lap as the winner

Swapped roles with my Dad when he decided to race so I was pitting for him.

Completely forgot that he needed fuel when he shouted down asking for the time, was about 12minutes when he was supposed to pit at about 8mins. So I frantically got ready for him to come in. When in, he was on fumes, so even though he was racing, he still managed to be a great pitman :P

Think I may need to improve on my pitting for next time haha

I was telling my cousin about this thread and he told me a story about a race he attended where the main was a 60mins. One of the driver's did not go to the bathroom before the main. Mine you the driver was 3 third in the race. The driver decided to go on himself to save his position. The pitmen below were dodging yellow rain drops......He finished 2nd in the race. My cousin said that there was a 30 minute delay to rinse the driver stand and pit area down.

All that tension was keeping him from getting to second, once he released his Golden Shower( EWWW!!!) he made his move to finish second. I think he thought he was in a 500 mile race in Nascar.

Was at the Australian nationals last year. I was qualified 5th at the start of the 1/8th finals. During my 30 min semi final i had to basically pit for myself, running out of fuel every pit stop! Haha, even thou whenever i looked down, dad was chatting to the other pit guys!
Still managed a 2 place in the 1/8th final, which was good

I remember saying 3/4 way through that race, "You know, if rc ran on solar, i wouldnt need you...Unfortunatelly they don't, so fill my f***ing car up...PLEASE

May not quite fit but My buddy asked another guy to pit for him so he hands him his fuel gun and says I'm coming in half way....His pit man grabbed his car and opened the lid inserted fuel gun, pulled the trigger and dropped him back down. about a lap later the buggy flames out. grab the buggy and I help him try and fire it back up but it wont start, so I'm thinking Glow plug, ignitor, Torn Fuel tubing..My buddy gets frustrated and walks off the stand while we are checking why it wont start....Turns out there was no fuel in the fuel gun when the "helper" filled him up ..filled him up with air and dropped him back on the track...........

Funniest thing i heard while pitting for my race buddy was this guy Dave was pitting for a fellow who was flaming out every few minutes in a 45 minute A main. after the 4 or 5 flame outs the driver asked his pitman when he should come in for fuel. His pitman yelled out "WE"LL FILL ER UP ON THE NEXT FLAMEOUT" everybody in the pit were rolling on the floor laughing:l ol:
