I have it on an exotek chassis. I think to be honest it would be easier to just use the setup as is or a thumbscrew that has the screw built into it if that makes sense since you can really flex the strap upwards.

For me, I just undo one side, and slide the strap out.

I also run the really big 6000mah Hyperions, similar in height to the Gens Ace packs. I actually found using just the standard post size alone allowed you to get the packs out the easiest, at least one standard post size on one pair of posts. I did this on the set towards the rear.

I used loctite to hold the studs in so I can use the thumbscrews.... made it a lot easier to change batteries

I did not remove any of the shims on the outside of the hub.

So to confirm, when you put in 2 of the shims that go behind the sun gears, you take off the shim that goes between the hub and the diff case?[/QUOTE]

Yrs that is what I done. Just seeing that paper thin shim in there just worries me with all the stress that is going on in those diffs.

What bearing mod are you talking about?

Get the saddle mont from rxshox, it uses velcro. Takes seconds to swap out batteries. The velcro holds them in good, ive tumbled hard and they stayed in.

You machine/cut down the diff case and add a 5x10x3 bearing to the outside of the diff inside the bearing that is already there. It takes away all the out drive slop. I was going to sell the diff's pre-cut with the bearings but am still testing with exactly how much to leave on the diff. So far the only issue I have had was one side of the diff leaking but it was a very old/worn diff case I was using to test with. Waiting on new parts to arrive with seals to test a final product.

Shaun (Coyote) does have some for sale currently if you do not want to attempt this yourself. I believe they are $36 a pair from him.

Using a 5x10x3 bearing inside the 10x16 bearing and trimming the diff housing to fit. It supports the outdrive instead of letting it ride on the outside portion of the bronze bushing.

Jeff can you post a pic of the RcShox saddle mount the pic on the website is so small I am having a hard time making it out.

And how many people here are running front springs on the rear? and how do you figure out if they say yellow are you still using the yellow from the front?

All the springs have a small mark of color on them on one end. Most I believe are running the blue front springs on the rear. I have been using whites fronts and greens fronts mostly on the rear but my truck is lighter than others.

it's easier to get in and out than a b44 battery with thumb screws. i plan on putting thumb screws in eventually, but just am not that worried about it right now. i keep a 2.0 mm allen handy underneath my car stand, and it comes out quick.

I put 2.5mm cap heads on mine. No worry about wind resistance in that locations
