RC10B4.1 FT/WC
If you dont enjoy helping others with info in regards to an ae product or the ae b4 car then why bother posting? Their are plenty of WILLING people to help out, we dont constantly need you to remind us of a mere search function. I am a fairly new racer that is still learning and it irks me to see people respond like you did, you have done it multiple times as well. If this hobby isnt enjoyable to you, why involve yourself? I dont care if their is a search function on here, help a brutha' out! Do you act like that when the race director calls for volunteers or the guy across from you ask's if he can borrow a tool or have a part? Chillax bro!

I help more people out than work on my own stuff at the track. I have missed heat races and almost mains to help people out. Taken stuff off one of my running cars/trucks to get someone on the track or used my spare parts to help people out.
everything you just said I have done. lost money time tools parts. So sorry if it came across the wrong way for you. Hell I have even gone the extra mile and given people my number that do not even live in this state to help them

wow... what a weekend at Motorama. Still trying to recover from the sleep deprivation.
I went with the intentions of running 2wd Mod but added 17.5 as well. Figured enough down time to run 1 car, 2 classes, like the old days with brushed motors.
YEAH.... never again. I spent all day Friday swapping spur gears, motors and changing ESC profiles that I didn't get much time to do anything else except prep tires. I decided to focus on 17.5 and just use mod for practice for 17.5 class. Made it easier. Plus I figured since I had never run 17.5 or any other spec class, it would be something different and I would learn some new stuff.
I grabbed an old 17.5 loaner from a buddy and strapped it in. Ran 36/72 for gearing. This was Blinky so no boost. Car had tons of power everywhere. It was great. Setup wise, I ran the Worlds setup with Losi orange / yellow combo. Used green barcodes all the way around (V2 rear). LRP SXX v2 with 1/0/0/5 settings (3.0 software). Only thing I changed in my car all weekend was I put 3.0 deg inboard toe back on compared to 2.5.
As far as my performance... I was very satisfied for my first real big race on dirt in close to 10 years. TQ was 13 5:12 ish and I was 12 5:16 so just about 1 lap exactly off. Needed to just hit 13 to make the A so wasn't that far off there either.
Hopefully this helps someone. I noticed an influx of new people asking the same questions we answer 10 times a day. Search for it (really) and if you can't find it, ask us. If you are afraid to get flamed, PM us
. I LOVE helping people out and seeing all these new guys means hopefully we just added a new RC racer to the mix.

To T_W and redneck thanks for the quick response. Brent hate to point out the obvious but your USE THE SEARCH wasn't helpfull and came across kinda doucebag style. I went back 11 pages and didn't see what I needed to know. God forbid you could have said you need losi spring cups also. Have a wonderful day

11 pages thats a lot of reading
not sure how I managed to do it but on Sunday I decided I was switching to a b4.1 from 1/8th scale by the next friday I had managed to read just about every post in this thread (skimmed alot and skipped some) but for the most part read everything. Learned alot too. Now I may not remember all of it or where to find it again but the search function does work if you take your time and USE it.

I'm still sticking to my original statement though. AE springs make the car feel more darty, BB springs make it feel more plush on jumps and less darty on flat turns. One isn't better than the other, they are different and you should base it off how you like your car to feel.
Oh and yes, next year you WILL be there
Yup in a 6 day period, well it was only like 650 when I did it, so thats about 100 pages a day, not all that bad, I dont sleep much at night so I would kill 50+ pages in an evening. Another 15-20 on my way into work (I carpool and that week I was the passanger) and another 20 or so on my way home.
When starting with a new car I like to know everything I can about it.

I'm sticking with them. Someone pointed out to me something else with the AE springs vs BB. FORGET the fact that they are big bore... take an AE spring and put it between your thumb and pointer finger and compress. Notice how it will bow out towards one direction. Repeat this process with a KY or Losi spring and notice that it doesn't.

You need to make it down here to the south sometime.
I'm gonna try out the red/white Losi combo on my buggy this weekend. I'll let you know what I think about it. Are you running the same oil and pistons? Just changing the spring?

I bought a B44.1 and read the whole thread.
I bought a B4.1 and started at the front and browsed through the thread.
I bought a SC10 same as above
I Bought a SC10 4x4 same as above.
I do not have the free time as you may think to read it all. I am very competitive and like to know as mush as I can about what I am racing. So taking the extra time is worth it to me.
I have no problem helping people. I am sorry if I came across as a d-bag. It helps for the person asking the question to at least have tried to find it on their own. I did.
No biggie though. I hope you get the parts you are looking for and it works out for you.
If the TLR5095 parts are not in stock. There is a way around it which is posted in the SC10 thread.
I run Losi BB on front/back of my B4.1, B44.1 and SC10
I run factory FT setup pistons and 30wt oil front/back
buggy is dialed.

I'll do my best! It looked like my kind of track, I saw some pictures of people running slicks. Thats when I'm at my best is on a clay track running slicks.

I could be wrong, but I think red/white combo is for shorty pack. Lighter weight / softer spring thing. Try it but also try orange / yellow and silver / pink. Silver / Pink will react supa quick. I flip back and forth between that and yellow orange. I will be spending more time at another track that resembles that kind of surface, and not the 8th scale landmine track I had been at so I'll test more.
I gotta see about making it down south. This year is out. I have a surgury planned for this spring/early summer so I'll be out of action for a little bit. I'll see what I can do about the winter or next year though. I LOVE to drive so it's not a big deal for me to drive to OKC for a race if I get the time off from work
