Just so I understand, the difference between bladder and emulsion is that with bladder its only pushed halfway up and with emulsion I push the shaft all the way up to remove all air and then i put the screw in the cap?

Transmission idler gears, traxxis serrated wheel nuts.

I have had my truck since July 4th, the only time I've stopped on track is because I didn't get a wheel nut tight and lost a front tire, or thermaled a motor because I had too much gear, and the one time I knocked off a rod end when I hit the wall in the back straight at full throttle, and I lost a shock pin because I neglected to put the retaining screw back in.

But I never broke anything.

Only had to replace a set of shock X-Rings & a 1 spur gear thus far ....

The Sc10 4x4 is built like a tank .......

alright guys i've got a question:

i know this has been done to death but i want a few opinions. i've done a few searches and have skimmed thru the info. but heres my question...

i'm getting my son (9 years old) a short course truck to race at the track. he's raced his rc18t (exotek tek18 conversion) at the track for over a year now and just this year they stopped racing mini's here at our track in favor of short course trucks. he's still going to the track with this 18t but only during practice times. so he's wanting a short course to start racing again. anyway i've been a die hard associated guy since the gold tub rc10's, with a few losi's, yokomo tc's & hpi tc's scattered here and there. anyway even now i run a b44.1 & b4.1. anyway the thing i'm trying to decide is should i go with the associated or the losi truck for my son. as from skimming through the vs. threads i'm kind of leaning toward the losi. but please can i get some input from you guys either convincing me to get the sc 4x4 or telling me to avoid it in favor of the losi?

i'd really appreciate it!!!!!!

coyote: If you push to the wall on exit on power, sounds like weight transfer, yes? how about some front inner limiters, start small like 1mm.

There is nothing wrong with sc010 4x... I got my 6yr old one for christmas. Jus throw some sway bars on it, some HD slipper pads and some good tires. He'll do just fine.

Every truck/car needs some type of mods in one way shape or from...

This truck is fast, nimble, turns like a M'effer! and is very durable!

Again, just my Opinion...

also does anyone know if i can run a spektrum dx3s & spektrum sr300 receiver with the rtr xp speed controller? i know there was issues with the compatibility of the xp speed controller from the rc18t with the spektrum receiver before but i'm sure they've fixed the problem now...

Well everyone says that the losi is the best out of the box, I dont disagree with those opinions but once the sc10 is setup for your track and the slipper is fixed with either the cluctch basket or Mantis's garodisks you can be competitive with this truck. Through the help of all these people on this forum we have this truck running great! It is a true competitor against the other 4x4's out there!

I think it comes down to driving style, since your son runs 18 scale which does take alot of skill and smooth throttle skills ( I ran 18 scale for a couple years and once I moved up to 10 scale those smooth driving skills definatly helped) I think the sc10 would be better for him.

Every car needs some work out of the box. I thought about buying the losi and asked on there thread what I would need to buy once I get the kit and most suggested getting the TLR Tunning Kit for it which is 120 bucks, just because the stock shock towers are junk they bend etc. So either 4x4 you decide on will need some upgrades out of the box.

For all posting about chassis flex and bracing a few questions ....

What setups and track conditions are you noticing this?

Has anyone switched to the exotek chassis and seen the same issues?

Thanks
