SC10 4x4 Thread
let me add some information about production and so forth for those who dont know.
To make a mold is very expensive, i have made molds before and it is not easy. for instance to make a mold for lets say a set of A-arms would cost around 7000.00 dollars in the US. so a company would have to sell 700 of them at 10.00 just to break even! and thats just the arms, imagine how much the mold for the chassis and everything else on the AE truck especially since it 90% plastic!! do the math AE would have upwards of probably (just guessing) 150k+ in just molds! now on top of that you have matl for the parts, packaging, design work etc etc. that same mold in China would be 75% cheaper due to labor! any Co would be foolish to not have the Mfg done in China , the same goes for electronics and even more so. There are very few if any large companies that are truly All american and if they are than you better believe you would see it in pricing! A high production mold machine cost around a half a million dollars. high end CNC mill/lathe 250k. Sorry to say guys but in this day and age 100% "American" made is a thing of the past, at least in RC

No, as a consumer I'll turn my back on anyone that claims I should buy product X over product Y, just because said anyone claims (without base) that product Y is garbage.
Why is product Y garbage? Because you don't carry it? Because you don't understand it? Because you just like pumping your chest?
For the record, I don't run off brand equipment either. But I rarely purchase kits, powertrains or other electronics via LHS. Not when I can purchase at a sizable discount through one of the well respected online retailers. I know what I want and don't need anyone telling me otherwise.
Now if you would please, based on your vast knowledge, explain to the class, WHY that ESC is garbage?

im pretty sure it has been mentioned, but can someone brief me why the diffs get so wobbly so fast. ive cleared the arms and am using stock shims. have gone thru 2 or 3 cases in about a month.any suggestion will b appreciated
ultimately it is a design flaw but nothing we can do about it except maintain it often, the 2wd gear dif uses steel bushings and lasts much longer but the pitch is 48 so we cant use them. By nature bronze oilite is soft but is a self lubricant which is why they use it. What wears them out faster is dirt that when mixes with oil turns into liquid sandpaper. Which is why i have switched to Grease instead of oil because it doesnt leak,i got two weeks into my last rebuild and there is barely any dirt visible on the outside of the gearbox and the outdrives have the same amount of play as when i assembled them. Its also a good idea to assemble the rear dif with thicker shims, it takes teh most abuse.
Well I like the Gens Ace but these are supposed to be ery good.
