I had no problems with the screws. The suspension holder screws were a pain cuz they are so tight. I would tap those.

had any of you tried the rcmonster electric conversion on there 811 before the 811e came out? If so how is it.

Me! Both will do the job and get around the track, the the serpent is much more eligant and better weight balance. and a billion times better quality.

The screws that come with the kit are actually very good and there is no need to use anything else. As others have stated the plastic is very tight (which I prefer) and may be causing people to strip some screws. I used an electric screwdriver and never pre-tapped anything and had no problems building the kit. Just use the electric screwdriver until the screw is ~1mm from being tight, and finish by hand.

I used this electric screw driver, and of the many I have tried over the years, it's bay far the best.

I agree. I've clipped some pipes at full speed down the straight that would have broke my front arms on my mugen and this thing keeps taking a lickin and keeps on ticken.

I did brake a front diff case where the anti role bar attaches in front due to a head on collision. This was because I changed my front bumper to the DE racing front skid plate bumper. The DE does not curve up to protect it like the stock one does.

the only two screws I had issues with were the long 40mm or 44mm ones in the rear holding the diff casing rest were perfect.

Early nitro kits had only oil in the bearings instead of grease but that is fixed along with the ebuggy coming with a huge coupler bearing and bigger outer hub bearings that have no flange, so bearing problems are gone. Screws have also been upgraded

yeah I thought the 811e would be better of course but its also 530 bucks. The rcmonster kit is 115. I have a back up nitro buggy so was thinking it may make more sense to convert it rather than dropping all that cash. But if the 811e is miles ahead in handling I may go that route.

Remember that it's not just the car that'll make you fast, it's also the stick man. If you already have a kit to convert & the ($$) pill is to big to swallow I'd just do the convert. I 've driven a converted e and liked that also. I had. Itching so that's one reason I picked up the serpent.

With the long screws, use shock oil and electric driver and you should be ok. You may need a higher end driver like a makita or Milwaukee. Then you will have zero issues with the serpent.

The handeling is more in the suspension. The rcm convert drove great! Just lacking quality in my opinion. If money is an issue, go rcm. You will be fine. But if money isn't an issue, to 811-BE. the RCm motor mount is a piss of crap to men

The ryobi one at the home debot is awesome for the price. Its 28 bucks and uses lithium battery. I think its the perfect speed and the number 2 torque setting is perfect. Whats wrong with the rcm motor mount? Chops how bout you send me a 1/8 brushless setup for christmas lol. I need everything for a ebuggy. Thats why I was looking at the rcm conversion. Time I bout the 811e a esc and motor and battery im over a grand or close to it. Anyone know of a esc and motor combo cheaper then the tekin or castle that is reliable?
