I agree, "but".

The Gambler actually wins in some clubs. As far as the circumstances, well that's for us to guess. But STRC makes parts for it too. It's kind of an odd truck. Mid motor setup too and all.

Don't get me wrong. I won't have one nor do I think it is a good truck.~

Oh, and RC Driver magazine is good about not having tons of ads but it's still geared toward bashers and those new to the hobby.

RCCA's pit tips are worthless for those well acquainted to the hobby, but occasionally I will see one that is cool.
I read it due to an easy way to see new shit, and it gives out some nice ideas for me to pass on to customers that doesn't involve the level of complexity 'we' guys go through to attain the "better" way and result. It works great cause I usually get blank stares when I go into shock tuning for a customer.

The problem with a magazine like RCCA is that they get all the equipment that they "test" from the manufacturers . If they give it a bad review they will never get another one of their products to test . RCCA has become a big ad for Traxxas . Just checked newest issue 138 pages 88 full pages of ads . That is 50 pages of content .

What would be a descent servo for this truck? Just got the truck. Nothing too expensive.

Yeah. But growing a set of balls, and then having a reputation means getting a "good" ranking from them is Prestige. Thus something to "work towards". It works both ways.

Savox 1258tg Todd. Like 70 bucks. Reach down in those deep pockets and just give it up! Just pop a cap in your receivers Butt to help keep the current up.

Capacitors won't keep the current up. The only thing they will do is allow for a lower voltage drop because the impedence of a capacitor is 1/(j*2*pi*frequency*capacitance). Any voltage drop on a DC power source (aka the BEC to your receiver) will look like a high frequency signal will flow through the capacitor because it will see the capacitor as a lower impedence then the BEC voltage supplied to the receiver. This is similar to the capacitors on power supplies for audio amps or computers just another application for it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitor

Wiki can explain it better with diagrams and pictures.

I agree. Ads don't do you any good if there are no subscribers to view them. If you have a respected maganize that is the "authority" on what is good and what isn't you'll get a strong subscriber base, then advertisers will want to access that base regardless of what you've said about them. In fact, they may run more ads to try and counter-balance a bad review if they know a lot of people are going to be reading it.
