I use Kyosho grooved o-rings and none of my v2 shocks have leaked a drop. I've used the Trinity ones with the same results. I just ordered a bag of 100 rings from mcmaster carr and will try them next.

I run at WC and I'm using the 8mm chassis. Again, thanks for your assistance.

Get rid of them, put Kyosho velvets on. This has been the best upgrade I've done to date on my buggy!!

They are a little pricey but they will last you a few months

Default The real thing...

At Tacoma ?

We use the stock ring's cus there the best , don't let anyone any fool U.

Remember to use green slime on the seals .
Then as of late we have been using the older white spacer block* instead of the black.*( the part that goes in between the seals)

Why ?
Cus the black spacer block has just a tad of flash and can make the shock bind when you tighten down the shock cartridge ....

IIRC the white ones from the V1's are thinner putting less pressure on the o-rings. I run them in all my V2's and have no leaks.

These Kyosho O-rings feel GOOD. I have always been amazed how good Kyosho shocks were sealed better than the Associated shocks!! I cant say they are for sure better or worse but I know Kyosho shocks are the best out and if I can use there O-rings I will. You need to dremel the ring spacer down .5-1mm to get that great feel since they are taller than the Ass. rings.

This post was originated by myself and the owner of the website. We found the KYO o-rings do not leak like the AE rings and are the best substitute available today.
However, in my testing I have found the KYO rings add additional stiction/viscosity. So its like adding 2.5-5 weight to the dampening. I liked the no-leaking effect, but I have to admit the AE rings are smoother and you know exactly what oil weight/dampening you are running. I don't recommend the green slime however. Its just a mess and doesn't add any additional smoothness or effect.

Regarding KYO BB shocks, I agree they are the smoothest BB shocks out there. However, a little birdie told me to expect "big" things coming from AE at the Reedy Race in Jan.

Thanks for confirming what I have been saying ....

way less striction or sticking with the Ae ring ...

less striction = more traction , better handling

green slime is not for lubrication , rather it helps slow down the swelling of the seals in silicon shock oil , gives the seal a longer life...
