And are you sure that you are starting with slicks and going to pins later??? I would think it would be the other way around. Pins until a groove and then the slicks once its grooved. and btw, i hate slicks LOL.

Just bought a B4.1 and was curious about the hex conversion. Tried searching through the thread, but it comes up with a lot of non relevant posts.

Parts I'll need are:
sc10rs steering blocks
b4.1 hex front axle
clamp on hex front and rear
22 rear wheels and RB5 front wheels.

Is this correct? How about the bearings in the front? Does it use the same bearings as before? And is there a crush tube in there?

Sorry for the repeat of this question for the one thousandth time I'm sure.

LOL I see what you did.... you didnt read the entire thing and thought that was one question :P

naa what I was saying is originally I was curious as if there was any other tires that resembled a taper pin for the rear. The first part of my reply was basically that I hadn't really looked at much out there because we had only been running barcodes.

The OTHER part was an reference to motorama and me being surprised that you would start out running slicks and go to a pin later

LOL

Now that I confused everyone everywhere LOL........

Oh and we run golds Chris...... :P

That would be because pink is clay compound and green isn't. Very different rubber we are talking here!!!

Go Pack!
I run on a very similar track, 12-13 second lap times and my box set up just isn't cutting it. Granted, I'm still terrible, but the truck is EXTREMELY hard to control.

I need to change the gearing for a little more top end and a less low end, I can barely touch the throttle. Not sure what size to go with.

Brakes are insane, even with the setting on the Transmitter all the way down, wheels still lock right up.

Also, not sure what fluid to put in the gear diff, it unloads at the slightest mention of a bump or turn.

No crush tube is used, due to the C clip used as the bearing stop

Items to do the hex conversion:
ASC9880 - Team Associated Hex Steering Block Set
ASC9881 - Team Associated Hex Front Axle Set
ASC3977 - 3/16 x 3/8 normal wheel bearings (4 pcs)
ASC6943 - 8/32 wheel nuts (I like the JCI2076 or JCI2075)

12mm hex adapters
PRO6077-00 and PRO6076-00 or JCI2081 and JCI2091 or ASC7497 (plastic)

Hex front wheels
PRO2735-02, PRO2734-04 or ASC9690, ASC9691

Hex rear wheels
PRO2736-02, PRO2736-04 or TLR7100, TLR7101

I didnt list JConcepts wheels as they are not current in stock at Amain and I haven't personally messed with the Kyosho wheels... but they should fit.

Another note, DE Racing makes front and rear hex wheels as well
